Description: La Porte des Indes is Indian cuisine on a grand scale, from the nine-metre waterfall cascading through the restaurant to the eight chefs in the kitchen. The food is just as spectacular, borrowing flavours from the former French colonies to add to its array of traditional dishes. Its central London location should mean you can spare some time for a visit to the Jungle Bar, where patrons are encouraged to throw peanut shells on the floor.

We have been to this restaurant a few times and the food is always delicious. There are such an amazing variety of flavours and all food is so beatifully presented. Staff are always extremely polite and friendly. It's such a pleasure to eat here.

From the moment you are greeted by the staff, to the moment you collect your coats, the is service is excellent. We can recommend the set menu.
A taste of all the dishes, with an explanation on which and what should be tried first. The food was to die for, the first time I had tried an Indian shiraz but not the last. If in town try La Porte des Indes. It was well worth the 140 mile round trip. A re-visit definitely is on the cards.

We visited for dinner after recommendations from colleagues and were not disappointed - the food is different to our local Indian and very interesting. The wine list is extensive and service was very good.
I would recommend that anyone thinking of visiting checks out the menu on line first - this give the dishes and prices.
My soft shell crab, slow braised lamb shank and piece de resistance lychee and rose pana cotta were all excellent.

We went for Sunday brunch the whole experience was just mind blowing. Definitely worth a visit. We went with our seven year old and she had lovely time getting face painting. there could have been more children activities but i am just trying to be picky. One suggestion would be to have themed events based around Diwali, holi, etc
