“Nice small restaurant, good fresh food and byow. What more can you get!”
Reviewed January 4, 2013 via mobile

Ate here with my partner on New Years day. Comfortable traditional surroundings.
Had nice fresh lamb and chicken, lovely rice and salad. Fresh nan bread.
Service good, even cloth napkins.
Bargain considering you can take your own drink as well.
Couldnt eat all the food so they wrapped it as carry out!
Loved it here and will come again if in London.
Recommend to any tasty meat eater

“Little oasis in central London”
Reviewed November 18, 2012

This is a great little gem tucked away on Edgeware road. Great hospitality, When we arrived we were greeted before even entering the restaurant by either the general manager/owner. A pleasant gesture that is a thing of the past these days! Upon entering we were immediately offered their extensive menus. Our drinks came promptly and our request for iced tea which was not on the menu was accommodated. Our dinners were exceptional.

“Tasty starters, juicy grilled meats, and fresh baked bread”
Reviewed July 8, 2012

Here are some of the things that are great about Kandoo.

A cosy environment - whether it is out in the garden in sunshine, or in the restaurant itself on a cold wet day, the restaurant is comfortable, attractive and welcoming. The staff are always pleasant and helpful.

The food is wonderful. Amazing selection of starters - great for sharing, with fresh baked naan from the oven in the restaurant itself. Great main course options. I'm not a meat eater myself, but my friends rave about the juicy tender lamb and chicken served with fresh tasty salad and rice. Everything very reasonable priced.

We have brought friends here from all over the world - Japan, the USA, Australia and from across Europe - and everyone has loved it and begged to be taken back.

Another advantage for us, is that you can bring your own wine. And it's a short walk from one of London's best independent wine stores, The Winery: http://www.thewineryuk.com/

“Kandoo vs Hafez.”
Reviewed July 6, 2012 via mobile

Went there today for Lunch. I was the only customer. Met n had a chat with non busy owner.
It is a welcoming place.
Ordered the bog standard Salad Olivieh
as Starter n Kubedeh Kebab on buttered n Saffroned Rice as Mains.
Salad Oliveh was fresh n full of life - better than Hafez of Notting Hill.
Kubedeh with Rice was ok not as good n juicy as Hafez.
So who is better????
I would say Hafez because of Superior welcome n food there was served from heart. I just mentioned the name of Zirish Berries at Hafez n was served a complimentary Berries n lovely Oilves/walnut/Pomgrenate relish!!!
Having said that I would definitely come n eat at Kandoo if i am in Edgware Rd area! Btw again a small place like Hafez but no Beer/wine list unlike Hafez who has even an Iranian Beer! Can't believe Ayotollas allow it to be brewed there !!!!

“You won't be disappointed”
Reviewed December 23, 2011

Have been here a few times and always been really pleased with it - lovely fresh tasty food, reasonable prices and really friendly service. Not sure what the other reviewer meant about a weird smell and a bit tatty - this has never been my experience at all. If you're around this way, give it a go
