“What a great night!”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

Our hotel managed to get us quite a late booking at this restaurant that we have wanted to try for a long time, but they apologised that we would have to sit at the restaurants bar rather than in the main dining room. When we arrived and were shown to our bar stools I was worried that it would be a rushed meal with no atmosphere. I could not have been more wrong. We had a great time getting to know the 3 Bar Tender/ Waiters/ Entertainers (Tom and Co) . These guys are so knowledgeable about the menu, the ingredients and the history of the place. We went with their recommendations and were not disappointed. The fish was fantastic so fresh and cooked so well. The haddock was delicious and the Cru Virunga Chocolate and Honeycomb Bombe is "A Must" as is Tom's Chocolate Martini. Wish we lived closer!

“still excellent”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

lucky to walk straight into our favourite restaurant on a Saturday evening. Well it was 5.30. Warm welcome and took pre dinner drinks promptly. Nice Prosecco. Very good starters I had the crab bisque and David the potted shrimps. D had the Cornish fish stew for mains and he said compared to a while ago there were some missing bits eg Scallops but it was still good. I had a nice big piece of cod with some chips and spinach on the side. D had a half bottle of their excellent Muscadet and I had another glass of Prosecco. Desserts and coffee to finish.

“We would not return”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

Very good service and atmosphere but with below average food. My fish was tasteless, inexcusable at the price. We have had many good meals in the past but think it is now trading on its reputation.

“Shaky start but very enjoyable in the end”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

We arrived at around 7.40 on a Saturday evening for our 8pm table. We were told our table was ready or we could go for a drink in the bar first. We decided on the bar option - big mistake! By 8.05 we eventually got our drinks after the manager ( I assume) hurried the bar staff. He did give us these drinks on the house. We finished these and then asked could we go to our table and were told it wasn't ready??? Not a very impressive start. When we eventually got seated we couldn't fault a thing - almost like a different place. The service was excellent, as was the food. Chargrilled squid and scallops to start (both extremely good) and then a fantastic fish mixed grill between us for a main with around 8 pieces of fish included. We just about managed to squeeze down a dessert, and the iced berries with white chocolate sauce were the nicest I have ever had. All in all we left feeling extremely full but very satisfied!

“Excellent British Fare”
Reviewed April 21, 2013 via mobile

We were fortunate that our colleagues took us to this local favorite. The haddock was fantasic and I must say the highlight were the mushy peas. Nice wine list and huge selection of Whisky. Great find for me going forward in the convenient Leicester Square neighborhood. Must make reservation in advance.
