Neighborhood: Fitzrovia
Description: This is not just any old tapas restaurant. Fino, in the West End, Charlotte Street, is headed up by Head Chef, Nieves Barragan, from the Basque region of Spain. The cosy contemporary interior, with a roomy bar, is super sleek but the ambience informal: Fino is popular with everyone from business people to families. Start off at the bar which has an impressive range of cocktails and mocktails, such as Basanna which contains fresh basil, coconut syrup and lemon juice charged with ginger ale.All tables have a turnaround time of two hours, upon which time your table will be requested back.

A great experience from welcome to the last mouthful (perhaps not the bill!). We arrived early and had a relaxing drink in the bar. Once in the restaurant our waitress went through the menu and left us to choose. We a familiar with Spanish food and all we can say about was that it was extremely good, the pork belly was superb, the sardines! Sadly no room left for a sweet only coffee and brandy. All in all one of the best meals we have had anywhere, excellent atmosphere and service. Will we go again - yes worth a trip to London for the experience.

We enjoyed a variety of creative renditions on favourite classics, including the octopus with capers, cod croquets, chickpeas with spinach, shrimp and spinach tortilla, tomato salad and for dessert we had the sorbet assortment and the chocolate soup with anise ice-cream. The portions were tapas-sized, but hearty. We each had a glass of Spanish wine, that was freshly opened. If anything, the octopus was ever so slightly chewy. We will definitely go back to try other dishes. The atmosphere was pleasant, albeit a bit loud and the service was excellent.

We were recommended this tapas restaurant by the Norwegian edition of the magazine Costume. We read that Gordon Ramsay himself used to visit this resurants when visiting London. A detail which gave us some high expectations. We were welcomed by a nice guy who offered to hang our coats and shoppingbags into a wardrobe. We were then escorted to a standalone table in a cosy local with a warm atmosphere. There was some noise, but it did nothing since it was late one a Saturday night and you have to expect that. We were presented the menu, which unfortunately was only written in Spanish, but we got good help to understand the dishes. Incredibly good selection of wines and dishes. The food came at regular intervals and tasted heavenly, professionally served by service-minded staff. The bill was a pleasant surprise and the whole experience ended with a private taxi that took us back to the hotel, booked by the staff at the restaurant. We will definitely come back.

brilliant food i couldn't fault it most of the time but this is definitely too expensive. the pork belly was good but not the money worth. we were seating at the bar and could see how some dishes (not on the menu) went out to the table but no one told us about it. is there a 2 class service there? and service when you eat at the bar seems to be very greedy

We had an amazing dinner: fairly traditional tapas to begin with, but all cooked with a twist, and some unexpected ingredient. Quality absolutely amazing, including octopus cooked to perfection: I have never had octopus so tender. We tried a very unusual Galician specialty - percebes - really worth trying for both the flavour and the experience .... Nice wine list not overpriced. Our waitress - Marta- was very good and had very good recommendations for us. Reasonable price for the quality. Overall an amazing night: the only downside to the restaurant is the design...it reminded us of an airport lounge, and it would be so much nicer if it was a little cosier....
