Comfortable seating, relaxed staff (I say relaxed - all the food arrived correctly and in good time which is of course not something achieved by relaxing) and above all good food make this a real treat while you're shopping. I'm a sucker for eggs benedict and the chance to have this with really good coffee in the middle of an area where some very interesting looking shops are opening up is not to be missed. Friendly, lively, I'll certainly be back.

This is the sort of great local place that Londoners seem to take for granted, but would become all the rage in any other city in Britain.
A wide-ranging vegetarian menu provides something for all - even confirmed meat-eaters will find something to like (though I did draw the line at trying 'vegetarian bacon'!) Portions are plentiful. Drinks choice is also good from decent beers and wines through a selection of teas and coffees to shakes. And all of this is extremely reasonably priced.
Service is laid-back and friendly - they all seem glad to see you! - but even so, I've always found it efficient as well.
Garden is great in summer and seems to be a sort of unofficial club for young mothers - you sometimes have to negotiate your way through the buggies in the garden - great for us as new grandparents, but for those of you child-averse, be warned.
All in all a charming oasis on Crystal Palace's main drag.

This is one of my favourite local places to go for brunch or lunch (never tied in the evening). Food is great and there is a really good selection of doorstep sandwiches (great with chunky chips). Its not the cheapest place but the quality of the food is always good. If the weather is good then head through to the back of the restaurant.. there is a lovely garden out back.

My biggest complaint is the service. Although always friendly and pleasant (I have never had rude service) its very sloppy. I usually need to ask twice for the bill and the last time I was there I asked for a water 3 times before actually getting up and going to the waiter to ask fro a 4th time.. and then I still had to ask for the bill twice. Not good!

The other point is this is a VERY family friendly venue which although is a good point for some, you do have to battle with prams to get a table!

As long as the food stays good I will keep going back..

The food here is good, healthy and varied. An all encompassing menu and specials board with lots of varied fish and vegetable dishes. Choices of breads, great breakfasts and good sized portions ensure we go back regularly. They have a nice garden out back but it does get very busy when sunny. There fat chips are a must and check out the 6-8pm weekday half price glasses of wine - very nice. Great service too, keep up the good work.
