I was taken here by someone who has been coming here for decades, and it his favourite restaurant in the West End. That is some recommendation! It is in a quiet pedestrianised passageway - no cars - and it has a few tables outside which are good for al fresco dining. We sat in the main restuarant, which is "cosy". An overspill basement room is also available.
The outstanding feature of this restaurant is the personal service from the proprietor and his charming staff. We were treated like one of the family.
Food is fresh and well cooked. The portions are generous. I would say that the cuisine is homely, and not particularly imaginative, but in any case the prices here are in the middle range, and there are thousands of Italian restaurants in London who are competing with each other. You will be in safe, if a little unadventurous, hands here.
Oh yes, and we were offered a limoncello liqueur each "on the house" at the end. A nice touch.
