Try the veal with lemon. Also the lobster and cognac soup. Excellent but unobtrusive service, nice ambiance. Good for business lunches but I am sure it would be great for couples as well. Great family run feeling

Went here on a Saturday night and it was buzzing, which is always fun. It is small, so you really need to book at busy times - there was a queue waiting for a table when we finished.

The service was very good, the waiter's recommendations were very good, and all in all it was a very enjoyable evening.

The value was very good - we had a bottle of pleasant wine, 2 starters, 3 pasta mains and 3 desserts and the bill was £75. But a slight beware - they do add service charge - I missed this until I looked at the bill afterwards so gave another tip......

I have eaten here many times over the last few years. The food it excellent. The service is friendly. All my visits have been at lunch time. Despite being so near Covent Garden this busy little restaurant is no tourist trap. You are encouraged to take your time and enjoy your food.
It is the ideal place to meet friends you haven't seen for ages and have a relaxed catch up over excellent food and wine.

We have eaten here regularly over the years and I am re-reviewing it to give it an excellent rating. We appreciate Da Mario's more and more as time goes on. Our meals have been consistently very good and the small staff attentive when needed and hands off when not. They serve one of the best veal scaloppinis we've had in London (or Italy for that matter). On our most recent visit we started with a Parma and mozzarella appetizer, followed by a very good linguine with lobster and the veal. We end up splitting each meal in half for taste variety. The zucchini friti is a treat. They have regular specials, meat and seafood, as well as changing starters. The house wines are competitively priced. Reservations recommended. You get excellent value for the money here in this family run restaurant. Va bene!

Came to this place by co-incidence, got a table though it was pretty full. Very nice people took care of us in a very friendly way. The food was as it should be simple but very good: a perfect bruschetta, scamorzo, and home made pasta with truffles and one filled with ricotta and spinach. Very good white wine and red wine all at good prices. Nothing over prized. We will definately come back to this family restaurant. A bit noisy to be a romantic evning restaurant.
