“Delicious Italian experience!”
Reviewed June 22, 2013

We were taken by friends who have been going to Cibo for years. They love it and we certainly understand why!

Service is flawless the staff seem to know what you want before you ask. Aperitifs and canapes appeared shortly after we sat down, the waiter arrived for our order just as we were ready and service was well paced.

We tried two of the starters the courgette flowers stuffed with mozzarella and the roasted vegetables with mozzarella. Both were superb all served on vibrant Italian pottery. We folowed with four different dishes. The spagetti and lobster - divine. The skewered scallops prawns and monkfish - a beautiful complement for the Sardinian pasta. The plate of seafood which looked delicious and was enormous! Finally the rack of lamb which was pronounced first class.

Although the desserts sounded delicious we were all too full and settled on double espressos all round which came with excellent petit four Italian style.

We drank the excellent House white but there looks to be a good choice of wine on offer.

We like italian food a lot and often eat at Italian restaurants but Cibo is certainly one of our best experiences in London. We will definitely return as soon as we can.

“lay back and enjoy”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

This is a great restaurant all round, but these are the two salient points that make it one of the best in the area, or even London:
1) You can completely rely on the service — they're professional and there just when you need it.
2) The little dessert bites that come with the coffee are breathtakingly tasty. Really! I'm not sure I've ever eaten anything better!

“Great local restaurant with real Italian food”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

Not having visited Cibo for several years I was slightly nervous when I booked for dinner on Saturday that it wouldn't live up to the standards that I remembered from previous visits. However, I needn't have worried.

The food was every bit as good as I remember - fresh, flavoursome and elegantly presented on colourful plates. Everything from the choice of breads, through to our starters and mains was well cooked and appetising. Portions were well judged. Our fish was fresh and perfectly cooked.

The wine list isn't extensive but has plenty of choice and prices aren't too scary. Service was attentive and generally efficient.

The decor is slightly dated for my taste and the atmosphere was slightly lacking when we arrived (shortly before 8). However this changed rapidly with the arrival of several groups of people, most of whom seem to be regulars and well known to the restaurant staff - always a sign of a good restaurant. This is very much a place for socialising with friends over a leisurely meal - rather than for a romantic dinner but none the worse for that.
Overall Cibo offers fabulous value and will be on my list for a return visit very soon.
