Description: Conceived by Sir David Tang, the founder of China Clubs in Hong Kong, Peking and Singapore, as well as the life-style brand, "Shanghai Tang", China Tang offers some of the best and most authentic Cantonese food outside China. Menus do not compromise on classical recipes and all dishes, including its signature Peking Duck are prepared with the freshest ingredients and traditional spices and flavouring (no MSG). The rave reviews won by the food have been matched by the sumptuous interior, which is designed to evoke a romantic sense of the art deco of the Thirties. As well as an abundance of chinoiserie, and quirky objets d'art, the restaurant showcases a collection of both traditional and contemporary Chinese art, all personally chosen by Sir David Tang.In addition to the restaurant, China Tang features an exquisite bar that offers a list of classic cocktails, made to perfection, which can be ordered to accompany the dim sum menu that is served all day. For special occasions, the restaurant also offers diners 3 private dining rooms - Ping, Pang and Pong!

A visit to China Tang was a delightful experience. Although an expected menu item, the Won Ton Soup was flavorful and delicious. I had to try the Classic Lobster which was cooked to perfection and the accompanying vegetables were also an added pleasure. The only drawback was that there were too many signature martinis that had vodka in them, and we all know that you should only call a drink a martini if it has only gin. ;-) Nonetheless, they can make a real martini as well. Overall, as I said, a delightful expereince.

A lovely treat, Chinese food delivered with style, attention and real quality. I am sure someone would even say the mum cooked it, but this is China Tang and its doen their way. Beautifully.
Service was attentive and discreet yet fun.
Worth a visit when in town for that special night for two or indeed with a group of fun loving friends.

The dining room is undeniably impressive and a real gem. The restaurant was fairly deserted during my lunch and service was a little lack-lustre. The lunch menu is reasonable value if you treat it as a ticket for visiting the room but the food was very disappointing. Better food can be found at Royal China Club.

Took a meal here whilst staying at 45 Park Lane. The restaurant is located beneath The Dorchester Hotel and the decor and ambience is great.

It's quite a fast paced and hectic restaurant so I wouldn't say it was romantic but would be great for other celebrations.

The menu had classics, dim sum plus other more originals on it although I didn't see a set menu selection anywhere. Some of the dishes were rather expensive (Wagyu beef) at £100 but I guess you get what you pay for.

Would possibly return but do have to say that I prefer Hakkasan - sorry!
