Our group went to dinner at Rules, and had a delicious meal and a great time. Immersed in British ambiance, it was not stuffy or dated to us. We loved it. Excellent service as well.

We visited Rules as 2 couples for lunch a couple of Saturday's ago. It must be said that the food simply could not be faulted, it was stunning, as was the wine and the beautiful, eloquent surroundings.
The service, however, didn't at all meet with our expectations, especially upstairs in the cocktail lounge. Quite a cold reception and very much a sense of unease about our waiter.
I did send feedback directly to the restsurant and was a little surprised to not receive a reply.
On balance i would say, the food and surroundings were fabulous, however, reading some of the other reviews, the service can be a bit hit and miss.

Rules is an elegant restaurant located in Central London. They treat you like your not just another Joe off the street, but like they truly care about your experience. The food and drink is remarkable and the service is the absolute best!!!

Everything about our experience at Rules was incredible. We popped in at Lunch for a drink and the greeting was warm, we went upstairs and had a cocktail in the Winter Garden which was lovely! We came back from a wander around the city for dinner and were seated in the corner, our server for the evening was Mattia and we couldn’t have asked for more from him! He was so attentive; that every time I was down to my last mouthful of wine it magically refilled itself! We loved hearing about Italy and wish we could have spoken to him for longer but he was so quick to find work that he couldn’t stay for too long! I ate Quail and Pork for my dinner and the food was marvellous, my partner had Oysters, Venison and Grouse, he was also overwhelmed by his meal. We chatted to Paul on the way out and he is so funny, made us giggle the whole way home. I can’t thank Rules enough for this special occasion, there is nothing I can fault and I can’t wait to return.

Rules is truly an exceptional restaurant where deep-rooted tradition meets innovative and creative cuisine for an outstanding experience. Even before you enter the restaurant you are greeted outside by the doorman and feel like you are stepping back in time. A very professional and polite restaurant manager then welcomes you and takes you to your table where you can admire the traditional decor and will receive first class service from all staff throughout the evening. The food is excellent. From the salad of nectarine and spice grilled quail to the duck breast and innovative venison biryani, be prepared for delicious and creative cuisine of the highest level. The restaurant has an extensive wine menu and for after dinner drinks, I recommend going to the separate cocktail bar upstairs. A fantastic and most enjoyable dining experience all round.
