Description: Hakkasan Hanway Place is the original Hakkasan restaurant. This Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant designed by Christian Liaigre has recreated the luxurious glamour of the past by combining Chinese history, tradition and architecture. Wooden lattice screens carved out of dark English oak invite discerning guests for a unique dining experience with contemporary cuisine from Chef Tong Chee Hwee. The menu has a strong Chinese ethnic identity with an ethos of Cantonese cooking that will be informed by a progressive approach, underpinned by authenticity rather than traditionalism. Hakkasan Hanway Place has launched Dim Sum Sundays, a weekly lunch event hosted by resident lounge DJs, available every Sunday from 12:00 until 17:45.

This was our first meal at Hakkasan, but it's bound to become a staple every time we're in London. Who would have thought from the outside that what was awaiting us here was Ali Baba's cave of culinary delights. But maybe I should start with the professionalism with which our reservations and pre-dinner SMS-reminders were handled. Three thumbs up on this front! Halfway down the stairs a promising décor of sights and smells have the visitor enthralled, and by the time the first dishes arrive, he is already taken in by the personalised attention. From the Maître d'H to the general manager everyone worked in synch to leave no wish open. The 60£ signature menu was ample, but I made a point of sending nothing back to the kitchen: the food was simply too good! Prepared with prime ingredients and TLC, it exceeded all our expectations.
At the risk of joining a chorus of delighted reviewers, I still maintain that this was one of the top ten meals I've ever had.

My Partner and I visited Hakkasan on a reccomendation of a colleague on Tuesday 17th June to celebrate my Partner's birthday. We chose the £60 tasting menu and were not diappointed. There was so much food and was all perfect, really tasty and looked realy good too. When destert arrived they had piped on 'happy birthday' in chocolate on one plate and put a candle in the desert - I had mentioned the birthday in the online form when I booked the table. I would definitely reccomend this restarant. Although it could be a viewed as a little pricey, it is perfect for a special occaision. Will definitely return.

I visited Hakkasan for the first time with a party of 9 on a Tuesday evening for a friends birthday. From the moment you walk down the staircase leading to the underground restaurant you are swept away by the beautiful oriental design, and the incredible smells of both incense and food. Myself and 2 others ordered the £35pp Taste of Hakkasan set menu, which included a dim sum platter starter, a main of black pepper rib eye beef, spicy prawn, grilled sea bass, duck, vegetables and jasmine rice, and finally a desert of your choice (I went for the Chocolate Marquis). The food is undeniably delicious, although portion sizes are (as expected) very small. Even after the 3 course meal I was still rather hungry, although those who ordered a la Carte had larger portions. Toilets were very clean with wonderful smelling hand wash and cream, and service is also excellent with staff being very nice, always available at hand but never intrusive. All in all, 9/10, will definitely be returning here and recommending it highly to all.

I've eaten here numerous times, it's nice for a 'coupley' evening or equally a group of friends. The bar is sexy, the 'Hakka' cocktail is a must, as is the DimSum (signature dish) and the Champagne Cod.

Although one can dress down comfortably here, (it is not pretentious) why bother. It's dimly lit, modern and trendy so we always dress up - suits, dresses and heels. This is a young restaurant, ridiculously loud music - the tables are fairly close, guests are merry etc. Don't expect ultra formal, tasting menu style, serious dining. Here you share dishes, swap starters and work actively through the cocktail menu. Social dining at its best, renowned atmosphere with perfectly executed food more than worthy of its (high-ish) price tag.

The service is on point, every time. Always take the dessert recommendations.

This restaurant is busy, so do book in advance. The experience as a whole will leave you upbeat, uplifted and wanting more.

Every time I have made it to Hakkasan I have left wanting more.

This time the stand out dishes were the golden fried soft shell crab which is self explanatory and the spicy prawn which consisted of perfectly cooked shelled prawns in a spicy aromatic curry sauce. We used the sauce to dip in other dishes as well it was so good.

A must on any trip to Hakkasan is a visit to the bar. No matter what your preferred drink they are bound to have an unusual variant to try and the bar staff are all very knowledgeable about what they have.

Beware that the restaurant is hard to find. In a back alley off Hanway place, down many stairs, it is worth the effort when you get there.
