Description: Bibendum, the flagship of the Conran gastro empire is housed in the historic Michelin building on groovy Brompton Cross. As you might expect, it delivers topnotch French food with impeccable service in a spacious chic setting. In fact, the food is so delicious that one is in danger of leaving the premises feeling like the Michelin man himself. Fabulous wine list to complement the menu and an ideal location to indulge in a little post lunch shopping on the cross or down Walton Street. With a set menu for lunch at £36 you can enjoy a 'grande bouffe' without a grand bill.

The set lunch (reasonable price) delivered excellent tea smoked mackerel with beetroot & unusual but yummy pink veal salad with rocket, tender monk fish cheeks with fennel & watercress & stuffed chicken breast with crisp ham round it. These courses were generous portions (not excessive), delicious & really good cooking. Then the chocolate brownie was very dried out & not all eaten & the lemon tart had a really soggy underneath, left some pastry. Good olives, delicious bread, nice little jelly & truffle with the decent coffee (just hot enough). Lovely room, service impeccable.

I used to work in this building 42 years ago so I will tread! car fully
We ate upstairs and had the Sunday roast it was superb the staff perfectly trained faultless. Rare sirloin just ask for more potatoes!
£33 for 3 courses was great value even though the desserts were a notch below the other two courses the bread and butter pudding was by far the best. it was not full much to my surprise as we all agreed it was value for money.

My wife knew of this restaurant and aware used to be an old garage and named after the Michelin tyre man - Bibendum. Had lunch with our son before we all went home after a nice break in London for a few days. We enjoyed the food - crab salad and smoked salmon with some prosecco and drizzle cake. some may feel it is a bit 'cold' due to white tiles on walls but the ambiance reflect what it was - a garage!

I have looked forward to eating at this restaurant for some time now and Saturday we finally managed to get a booking for 8.30pm. The building is very impressive and the restaurant very chic. We were greeted with canapies and bread as soon as we sat down which was good as we were both really hungry. We then ordered our food and within 10 minutes or so we were eating our starter. The plates were quickly whisked away and within 15 minutes we were eating our main course. We were walking out of the restaurant 65 minutes after we had sat down. Although the food was good we felt as though we were being processed as the service and staff were all very rushed. We had purposely booked a late table so we could spend the night enjoying the food and wine but instead we went back to our hotel for dessert and a night cap in a much more relaxing environment. Really sorry but not a good experience.

I visited this restaurant 16 years ago and was totally blown away by the building. I was so excited to bring my husband here recently and share it with him.If you like art deco and unique reuse of buildings, not to mention the utter charm of Bibendum, the Michelin Man, you must come here. There are so many neat little Michelin touches. The food is pretty classic French. It's very good, not great but good. The service is wonderful and the whole time we were there I felt so very lucky.
