Seven of us had dinner at Bengal Tiger during a recent family trip to London. We walked from London bridge to the restaurant and really enjoyed the sights along the way.

Our group included some who had never had Indian and others who were very familiar with Indian food and knew exactly what they wanted. The waiter was terrific in helping those who needed help, particularly my nephew who has a mild alergy - whom they brought a lamb curry that he loved.

We were in a bit of a hurry to get to our reservatios at the Chard and the wait staff did a great job in accomodating us.

We all enjoyed the food very much and have no problem recommending this restaurant.

Had a good dinner twice there while in London in April 2013. Told the waiter what I liked (spicy, chicken, no coconut taste) and asked him to order for me. Did a great job. Good place, open late which is rare for London it seems.

I went for buffet with five friends. There apparently were no seats available because of a party that was there - this much was understandable, but the waiters were incredibly rude to us. Told my friends to leave upon entry with hardly any explanation. When my friend sought further explanation and asked for when we could possibly come back, the waiter was incredibly uncommunicative and acted annoyed by our inquiry. The terrible experience ruined the remainder of the day - better to go elsewhere than risk having your dignity be trampled upon

The Indian colleagues we were with pronounced the food authentic. The spicy popadoms were a hit as was the vegetarian courses.

The food was reasonably good, though it could have done with a slight bit more flavour. The clipper thali was very good though some found it a bit sweet. Everyone however found it more than acceptable as an indian.

It was a nice touch having a girl playing piano in the background rather than elevator style indian music. The venue was not too loud, allowing our group of 8 to have a decent conversation.

This came recommended by a colleague, mainly for their wedding chicken dish. The colleague also mentioned that the restaurant is a favourite because of it's 'delicate' flavourings. In terms of taste, that sums up the Bengal Clipper - there is hardly any dish that I tried in my 3 visits there which was spiced as it would traditionally be. Cream is used liberally making most dishes even blander with the restricted use of spices. For someone who enjoys traditional INdian cuisine, the food here will probably leave you wanting more of a kick.

However, it's a pleasant local of the Shad Thames area and though the room is grand, the service can be a little more alert and friendly.
