Good for: Families with children, Large groups
Dining options: Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast, Late Night, Reservations
Neighborhood: Covent Garden
Description: Set in a former warehouse in Covent Garden, Belgo Centraal's staircase descends into a Beer Hall with long refectory tables waited on by staff in Trappist monk outfits and head sets. But this is no silent order; it's bustling and noisy with many customers tucking into steaming bowls of mussels in a variety of broths and platters. There are also two main dining rooms and a selection of more intimate dining booths. Seeking something substantial? The stews include Moules Blanches cooked in Bruges beer with smoked bacon, all served with frites. From the Rotisserie, choose from beer basted spit roast Belgian chicken or duck, or peruse the extensive main menu which includes the veggie-friendly Artichoke stuffed with Wild Mushrooms, Asparagus and Pine Nuts. Of course, there are over 50 Belgian beers to taste, including Fruit Beers in varieties such as cherry or banana!

Great restaurant in covent garden. Not usually a beer drinker but developed a whole new appreciation for the stuff. Visited this place after enjoying stroll around the city. Large basement restaurant, tried a couple of the beers with excellent outcome. My wife and sister in law loved the fruit beers. Mussels is the name of the game here and they are fresh and tasty. The slow cooked beef and belly pork is great and hearty. Pricing is good for portion size and for London! It does get noisy given that there is plenty of drink on tap. So if you are here with children best to eat early evening, lunchtimes rather than late evening. Highly recommended for the beers but also for the food.

Been 10 years since we last went, as never get time in the capital any more. But it was good as I remember . Food brilliant, atmos brilliant , didnt get chance to sample the beers, but looking at the menu, they still looked good. I love this place and hope it's not 10 years till the next visit.

We had a late meal here and would recommend it, the food was really tasty and the service was fast and friendly.
The restaurant was busy but in that "cool busy" feel, so you didn;t feel rushed but there was a good level of background noise.
A great restaurant to visit with friends.

No visit to London is complete without a meal at Belgos. The menu is getting more diverse but modules are still my favourite. I wish they did not add the service charge automatically to the bill. They don't sell Hoegarden beer any more but they have their own similar one which is very good. Mayonnaise should be on the table you have to ask for it.

What a disappointment!
I have been visiting Belgo regularly & have noticed a decline in the service standards.
The food & drink remains at a high standard but the staff attentiveness is in decline.
At my recent visit it was difficult to get the attention if staff throughout the meal.
I removed the 12.5% discretionary service charge before paying the bill due to the poor level of staff service (perhaps if the service charge was not automatically added to the bill the staff may be more inclined to provide a better level of service.
