“Finally Egyptian food!”
Reviewed October 14, 2011

It was a very good experience. We are Egyptians who live in Aberdeen and decided to visit London for a short holiday. Discovered this place by accident and it was a very nice discovery. Good food, good service and for the first time in 1 ½ years we can eat out an authentic meal, they even put Om Kolthom on the radio for you….
We will definitely comeback if we are ever in London again.

“Amazing Egyptian food - perfection, would highly recommend!”
Reviewed June 12, 2011

Disregard its slightly unwelcoming looking exterior because this place is a diamond in the rough. It is a true egyptian experience as the staff are all from Egypt and are very friendly.

We have a personal link to Egypt so our standards are already set high and we were not disappointed. Food was brought out as it was cooked so it was fresh and hot. We had a selection of starters, falafel, hummous and hummous with aubergine (aka babagagnuh) and pickled vegetables. For main course we had a delicious lamb capri and followed this with baklawa and basbusa for dessert. We were absolutely stuffed and felt like we'd eaten like kings.

Take this place as it is, simple, clean and wholesome food without frills and pretence and you will have a fantastic experience like us. Do not be offended by a different type of service, as it is this way in Egypt - where the emphasis is always on good food and a discreet service with a reluctance to interrupt or intrude on your meal; they make eye contact to remind you they are there if needed but do not approach the table unless they are requested to do so - they see this as the best way to enjoy your meal.

“Hole in the wall with great take-out”
Reviewed February 27, 2010

Fast service for late night diners. Put smiles on the faces of both vegetarians and carnivores alike. It was the first okra experience of our entire family (having heard horror stories of slimy vegetable!) It was great! My 6 and 10 year old children also loved it! The shish kabob and grilled chicken were also good. The servers didn't speak English very well, but I couldn't pronounce most of the names of the food, so we'll call it even.
