Description: Run by Abdel and Frances Boukraa he hailing from Djerba, Tunisia, she English born and bred Adams Caf is a thriving family affair which has grown over the years to become one of Shepherds Bushs most popular restaurants. A caf by day and a restaurant serving North African cuisine by night, Adams Caf is a bustling local hub, informal and authentic, decorated in mosaics and cheerful colours. It may serve the biggest and best breakfast on Askew Road but this is no greasy spoon. Visit in the evening and find yourself greeted by the spice infused aromas of Tunisia and Morocco. The menu consists simply of couscous dishes alongside grills and tagines, each based precisely on Abdels experience of home cooking. You really wont find a more authentic taste of North Africa in the capital.

This place is just lovely, a little bit far from public transport which makes it an adventure worth taking. The owners are absolutely charming and hospitable, the setting is intimate but fun and relaxed, and the food is delicious and incredible value for money! I am really excited to have found this place and envious of the people living close by, this is the sort of restaurant I wish I had at the end of my road.

This North African Moroccan/Tunisian restaurant is a delight. Run by the same couple and their extended family for over 20 years it feels really together. The food is varied and delicious with a good range of meat and fish typically including tagines/hotpots (recommended), cous cous and other regional NA delicacies.
We visited in the evening and there is a lovely atmosphere created by dappled arabic lights, traditional tiling and a good customer vibe - it is certainly a brilliant place to raise your spirits in the dark days of winter for a moderate cost! Do not be put off by the name Cafe because in the evening this is very much a restaurant - the kind of family run neighbourhood restaurant that New York does so well.

Essentially this is two restaurants in one. In the mornings, Adam's provides one of the most enjoyable traditional English breakfasts. Don't expect kedgeree, or prridge, but bacon, eggs, mushrooms, sausages, etc. (lots of them) at very good value and quite amazing speed. In the evenings, it transforms into a Moroccan restaurant, which has a great local reputation.

The chef here is fantastic, the starters are delicious and unique, as are the complimentary vegetables and meatballs at the table. The couscous and tagines are excellent, the gargoulette tunisienne, a lamb, potato and tomato stew is definitely recommended. There are very well selected Tunisian wines as well which are well worth experimenting with. The service and atmosphere are very friendly, we'll be back soon!

I am a big fan of this place. It is a local restaurant which we visit reasonably regularly and have never had a bad meal. The owner is Tunisian and the food is great North African food. My girlfriend is the daughter of a Tunisian chef so she is a pretty good judge. You can add to her recommendation some very good write ups in a number of esteemed restaurant guides. Friendly, personal service, nice ambience and great food at reasonable prices. Go. You will not be disappointed.
