Neighborhood: City of London
Description: Where possible, we avoid mass produced pre-packed mixes. All the sandwich fillings are mixed and made in the kitchen downstairs. We roast our own beef, cook our own bacon and sausages, and bake our own baguettes. In addition, our chef makes pasta sauce the old fashioned way, from scratch, which explains why our range of pasta dishes is so popular. He also cooks curries and chillies, and the most popular menu item of all, chicken escallop. These and the rest of his creations are on display, just to help you with your decision making when it comes to ordering. In addition to our regular clientele visiting the cafe, we also supply and deliver platters for lunch meetings, breakfast baps and personalised lunch bags . We can adapt our menu to suit your needs. So, whatever it is you want, or however you want it, please let us know. If it is within our powers, we will do it your way!

“A Cafe for London to be Proud Of”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2014

I spent a weekend with some family in London and to keep hotel bills down, we chose to find our own breakfast. Therefore, we went looking in hope rather than expectation, and came across this little jewel. The City Coffee Lounge looks from the outside like any other small 'greasy spoon joint', but don't be fooled by appearances. The menu was quite varied with the standard fry ups, but also a many more continental options. Then, there were the filled rolls. We are talking here about rolls that would fill en elephant, so you can see why so many local contractors came here for snacks. I went for the scrambled egg with smoked salmon and a cup of tea, and it arrived fresh, in large quantities and very swiftly. The place was very clean and the staff very friendly. Also, the prices were very reasonable which for a London eaterie of any description, is a bit of a miracle in itself.

In conclusion, it's well worth a visit and is a credit to London!
