We thought we'd try this newly refurbished and modernised local restaurant having never gone there in 20 years of living in Pimlico whilst it was Kym's although it is still in the "family". We loved the modern and very stylish décor. Service is efficient and courteous. The choices of how you'd like to style your dining experience are fun; from a la carte "dishes" to Chinese street snacks served sitting at the bar. The kitchen is visible from the restaurant, making the activity in the kitchen part of the restaurant’s theatre. We chose to sample a few of the dishes and shared Dim Sum platter, Dry braised salt and pepper tiger prawn, Five spice smoked cod cheeks, Razor clam with braised sea cucumber, pickled cucumber, wind dried sausage and soy butter, Honey roasted pork with plum and yellow bean dip, Chicken in black bean sauce and crab & seafood wrapped in Chinese lettuce. All of the food (especially the cod cheeks, absolutely yummy!) was fresh, delicious and beautifully presented and each dish garnished individually and imaginatively although portions are small. We are regulars at Hakkasan but thought much smaller, local A.Wong's to be up there with the restaurant experience food-wise, if not exactly the vast cave that is Hakkasan. We will definitely be back!
