“Nice food, too many menus”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2012

Went in for Dim-Sums but they gave us 4 different menus, which did make it difficult to choose from.

I wanted to try some random Dim-Sums and the gamble paid off for some of the choices, others not so much, but that was down to our choice rather than the kitchen.

Service was fast and a little rushed but to be reasonable, it was Friday night and they were busy so you have to expect it in central London.

“Below average Chinese cafe”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2012 via mobile

First mistake was not to check on TA but it looked ok and was full of Chinese people eating. We had a fixed menu for 2 but it was poor. The service was rushed so my recommendation would be to avoid.

“It might have been great if someone would have waited on us.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2012

We basically paid 17 pounds for water and a coke. No one would wait on us nor would anyone explain the menu. They kept try to get us to eat the Dim Sum. The persons with the trolleys had no idea what the ingredients were or how it was cooked. I have a severe food allergy to Coconut products. If I get a by-product or a very small amount of Coconut, I have an injection that can be given. If I eat a big chunk of Coconut, it is a toss-up whether a Hospital can intervene or not. Most Chinese cooking doesn't have a lot of Coconut but it can. After 30 min. We paid for our drinks and setup and left. The crabby lady that was in charge was all but pushing us out the door. It was obvious that they made their money off of the Dim Sum. We went to another Chinese restaurant closer to Leicester Square for a great lunch. If you are adventurous and money doesn't matter, the food might be great. I won't ever know since no one would wait on us.

“What a find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2012

We were tempted in by a lady stood outside and perhaps weren't sure as there were only two other English couples inside. By the time we had ordered the seafood set menu, the place had filled up with Chinese couples, businessmen and families. When the food started to arrive we were amazed. The lobster course was not only huge but visually appealing and tasted fantastic. The menu also included scallop dish, and a Dover sole amongst other things. Fantastic. Go and try it!

“Can't go wong”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2012

We had just about an hour before our show started so didn't have the luxury of choosing from the myriad of restaurants available in Chinatown. New China looked fine from the outside and was pretty packed with Chinese so we thought it would be fine. The Maitre'D took us down to the cellar, which was also pretty packed. Again, as we were pressed for time I just ordered the set meal for two, something I would never ordinarily do, and hoped for the best. The waitress set the table for us with very basic plates and cutlery all of which (including the wooden table) looked like they had some fair wear and tear. Soon the food began to arrive and we breathed a sigh of relief that we had made a good choice. The food, old stalwarts including sesame prawn toast, seaweed, ribs, sizzling beef and crispy duck was excellent and delicious and had it been served in a more high end establishment with a bit more finesse could have been worth at least twice the money. All in all it was a very pleasant experience and I wish we had similar quality Chinese food in Limassol. We paid around 60 quid for two with a couple of Sigha beers and water including tip. For what it is, a slightly run-down and well worn unpretentious restaurant very obviously loved by local Chinese and others for the food, I gave it 5 stars.
