Description: Hummus Bros was born on a glorious hot day in May 2003, when, as two college friends, we were searching for something filling and healthy that would taste great, and still leave some change for drinks at the Union Bar. Passing on the usual options of pizza or sandwiches, we stumbled out of a small specialist delicatessen with three basic ingredients: pitta bread, hummus and olive oil. In no time at all, the bowls of hummus were wiped spotlessly clean. "I could eat a good meal like that everyday!" someone remarked. We looked at each other and smiled - a dream was born: to open a place dedicated to hummus.

If you like hummus then this is the place to go! It's not very fancy but the food is great. There is some really nice chicken and beef dishes. There is no alcohol served though (incase you were thinking of having a bottle with your dinner). Come with £10 and you will leave well fed. I will return! I recommend the chicken and hummus dish.

I walk the 20 mins or so to get a fix here probably once a month. Small hummus with chicken and a lemonade. Friendly staff. Pleasant, clean and sparse interior. Ordered a big one once but too much hummus and pitta becomes a bit cloying - so so keep it small, simple and cheap and it's worth adding to the lunch menu.

Popped in for an impromptu meal the other night with a mate.

Positives: Friendly staff, nice location, clean. The hummus was tasty and fresh, I had the guacamole topped, my friend had the lamb. We had a side order of tabuleh (since they had run out of falafel?!?!). Flatbread was delicious.

Negative: With drinks (soft) it came to over £25 and felt slightly expensive for what it was but suppose it's smack in the middle of Soho.

Plan to return with Mrs Platelicker. If you like hummus, this place is worth a try.

Really not that good at all. I had the Hummus with aubergine to takeaway and the portion was pretty pathetic for £6+. Then came the taste which had an off after taste - a passed it around my office and everyone agreed.

Never again

I went with a friend in the evening, and was struck by how simple everything was. There was not a huge range of toppings, but just enough. We ordered two regular hummus dishes, one with chicken and one with guacamole.

The sizes were generous, and served with pitta breads, that though a little plain, were just what we expected. The hummus itself was quite good, and the toppings equally so. The portion sizes were very reasonable and we just about finished both plates.

Service was great, everything was explained and brought to us very promptly. The staff were always friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed.

Seating was just benches, and it seemed that they would become communal tables if it was busy.

Would recommend for a budget friendly visit. . .
