My husband and I booked directly with the hotel website for 4 nights standard room with breakfast at Park Plaza County Hall in April this year before we joined our 27 days Great European Tours to celebrate our 35 years wedding anniversary. On arrival at the hotel, we were upgraded to a studio room with a separate lounge on the 8th floor with a great view of the London eye and a card with a bottle of wine. The room is extremely clean, well equipped and beautifully decorated. It has a kitchenette area with microwave, kettle, Nespresso coffee maker, fridge, plates and cutlery. The bathroom was lovely - huge shower and bathtub and lovely toiletries, complete with bathrobes and slippers to make you feel right at home! The hotel is close to Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, London Eye, Houses of Parliment and Waterloo Station. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful and professional. The hotel was right next door to Trafalgar Head Office which was only 2 minutes walk with our big luggages for the start of our European Tours. The housekeeping staff very kindly brought our breakfast to our room at 5.30am before we checked out.
We left in a hurry and left behind my husband's leather belt. On our return from our European Tours, we stayed for a night before we fly home to Australia. My husband's belt was brought to our room and we were very lucky to have the Studio room with great view of the London Eye.
Thank you to Park Plaza County Hall for making us feel so special . I have shared my positive experience with all my family, friends and colleagues. We look forward to going back to Park Plaza County Hall on our next visit to London.
A special note to all aussies who are travelling to London and joining Trafalgar Tours. Park Plaza County Hall Hotel is the best hotel and right next door to Trafalgar Head Office York Street. In fact the bus stopped right in front of the hotel to drop us off on our return from Europe.

Room Tip: We had the studio room on 8th floor and great view

We checked in earlier than the usual check in time, after a long flight from Australia and were pleasantly surprised to have a room available to check in to straight away. We appreciated this very much as we were very tired and simply wanted to shower and sleep. The room had one window that looked down in to the dining area/restaurant but this did not concern us much as we were there for only a night. It was however well equipped and had all the essentials for a comfortable stay. The lunch menu was basic but adequate for a snack type meal. All the staff were great and the location very central to many areas of tourist interest in London.

Stayed here for two nights over the Jubilee weekend so as you can imagine it was very busy. We were with a coach party, arriving at about 12.00 on the Saturday and fully expecting to have to leave our bags until later in the day. However all our rooms were ready (51 people!) so that was brilliant. We were on the tenth floor of 14, there are three lifts plus a service lift and as there was so many of us the staff made us aware we could also use this one, meaning it was only a few minutes before we got to our room. Ours was quite small, with no view except internally but heyho. Usual layout, very comfortable bed but quite a small bathroom with an opaque sliding door and a VERY deep bath which would be difficult for a less than able bodied person to use, surprisingly, the tap on the wash basin broke but still worked so we only reported it when we checked out. A small fridge and microwave are provided if you want to visit London and not eat out but that's not why we were there. Breakfast was buffet style and had an excellent range but on both mornings we had to queue for quite a while, but again, it was the Jubilee weekend.. Location wise you couldn't ask for more. On all three days we walked into the West End in about half an hour and of course there's loads to do on the West Bank which takes about a minute to get to. There's a bus stop directly outside the hotel and Waterloo tube station round the corner. What more can you ask for?

This was our second stay at the Park Plaza and as before I found the hotel excellent in every respect. The studio room which we booked is spacious with a seperate bedroom and sitting area . The small pantry with micro wave is handy and useful when you want a bite.

The location of the hotel is great - a short five minutes walk to either the Waterloo or the Westminister station making making connectivity to any part of London a breeze.
It's proximity ( a short walk of 2 minutes ) to the London Eye and particularly South Bank which is action packed in the evenings is a big plus. There are a number of eating places around the hotel to enjoy an evening drink and meal.

Downside is the view from the room which is just the yard of the Waterloo station - getting a room with a view of the London Eye would probably be a much better idea though one has to pay more for these rooms. The hotel could also certainly improve the reception which is really small and does look a bit shabby.for a 4 star hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view of the London Eye though it means paying more

Pravine,

Thank you for returning!!!

I am happy yo read you had a great stay once again.

The location of the hotel is excellent, allowing all our guests lots of opportunity to see and do different things in the Capital.

Next time, why not upgrade to a room with a view of the London Eye? It will be worth it!

We stayed overnight on a mini-break to London, and were extremely happy with the hotel. We paid extra for the children's package. The children's packs were excellent (yo-yo, activity book, safety bracelet, bubble bath and more), there were grapes children's drinks and sweets in our room when we checked in, free children's movies, and the staff were very helpful. The hotel was quiet, despite the building site next door we were almost able to get a good night's sleep - the only problem being a midnight fire alarm, unfortunate, but these things happen.

Particularly good breakfast, with helpful staff who even pointed out the horses of the Household Cavalry being taken around the roundabout - the kids were delighted.

Pros:
Very good for the London Eye, Westminster
Close to Westminster and Waterloo tube stops
Great service for children
Less business focused than other nearby hotels

Cons:
If you're meeting people they will go to the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge by mistake. They just will.

We stayed at the Park Plaza hotel for 4 nights during the Easter holidays in April 2012 travelling as a family of four. I booked the room direct with the Park Plaza website as this gave us the best rate.
The location of the hotel was fantastic, a two minute walk to County Hall, the London Eye, London aquarium, 5 minutes across the bridge to Westminster. Walking distance to Covent Garden, Leicester Sqr, Trafalgar sqr etc and that is with a 6 year old.
We had a sleeping area with a lovely big, comfortable bed and a separate living area with a sofa bed which the children slept on. They found this quite comfortable but as an adult I found the mattress a little small. The room has a large bathroom with separate walk in shower as well as a bath. Lovely big clean fluffy towels were provided on a daily basis as was maid service.
We also had a mini kitchen which had a sink, kettle, small microwave and very small fridge which was handy for little bits and bobs the kids needed / our own bottle of wine / water etc. 4 small plates, cups, bowls, cutlery provided.
We were booked in as bed and breakfast and breakfast was very busy - each morning we joined the long queue but were very quickly asked if we minded eating elsewhere and were taken to a conference area which had the same breakfast spread as the restaurant. There were hot pancakes, muffins, bread, rolls, cereal, croissants, cold meats and cheeses, fruit etc as well as full english breakfast available (NB they will make eggs to order but did not advertise this well). It really set us up for our days ahead, well worth the B&B price.
A lovely touch from the hotel was the kids goodie bag on arrival which included a yoyo, bubble bath, pencil/paper and parkplaza dollars. The dollars allowed the children to buy drinks, ice cream or sweets in the bar. All the staff were really nice to the children throughout our stay.
There were only two downsides to the hotel:
1. the bedroom was very warm even though it was not hot outside. To be fair we did not complain about this so did not give the hotel the opportunity to rectify
2.the bar area was not very large and as we were there when lots of families with younger children were staying in the hotel it was often difficult to get a table.
I would totally recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a hotel with a great location in London.

First visit to London and wanted to be near te attractions. Hotel is in a good location for the Eye, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, etc. Had executive studio which was comfortable for the 4 of us. I do wish that the bedrOom could be closed off from rest of room. The Hotel was very clean and attractive. the staff was attentive once you got their attention. We ate breakfast only once during our 3 day stay. We were seated in a conference room upstairs away from the restaurant. the coffee ran out the eggs undercooked and no staff in sight. We were on the 11th floor with a city view (don't fall for this, it is just a view of the train yard, nothing to see). We also continued to have to reprogram pur room keys, which meant getting to the room to find the key not working and have to go all the way down to reception to get it reprogrammed and go back to room while family waited. We had to do this 4 times. overall a nice place and most of the defeciencies I would mark up as due to the crowds for the Jubilee.
