Reviewed September 9, 2013

In July this year we had a bad experience with the Presidential apartments in Marylebone and Kensington, and I would not recommend them.
Last January we booked and paid for a 5 night stay in the Marylebone apartment, as we specifically required a spacious apartment in that area. On arrival on 16/7/13 we were told our apartment was not available due to a "water leak", and we were transferred to the Presidential apartments in Kensington. We were allocated a tiny basement apartment.
We complained to the staff at both apartments, but were treated indifferentially and brushed off. We had checked the price of the basement apartment on the Internet and it was nearly 400 pounds less than what we had paid. Presidential apartments in Marylebone refunded us 30 pounds, which did not even cover our frequent travel expenses back to the Marylebone area.
My wife complained to a more senior person at Kensington as we were leaving, and he said it was "not right, and he would look into it". We have not heard anything.
In summary we were overcharged for a smaller, cheaper, less convenient apartment.

For our last three nights in the UK this was a very comfortable place to stay. Apartment was well fitted out with microwave, washing machine/dryer etc. With Tesco Express next door it as easy to get supplies for breakfast and dinner. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and helped us out with storing out luggage after check out until we left for the airport. Room was extremely clean.

This is the 2nd time I have visited the Presidential Apartments. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

This was a girly weekend and is ideal for shopping as a 5 min walk from Oxford Street. Added bonus is to have a Tesco express next door to purchase any forgotten essentials, or to top the fridge up with nibbles and refreshments!!

Staff go out of their way to help, the apartment was spotless, everything you need...hairdryer, kettle, microwave, cutlery..!!

Really enjoyed it, about to book up to go back in November!!

I found the room a bit disappointing. The location is great. Close to both buses and subways. The twin bed for my daughter was like a rock. The double was big but actually two twins pushed together. The TV had to be constantly restarted because it would often freeze. The lights over the mirror never worked even after we reported it twice. Shower had no curtain and no mat. The continental breakfast was quite good but always the same. Management was nice and held our bags on the last day and brought them down for us.

Having had a great stay 3 years ago, we rebooked this for our short 3 day stay this time round. Room 33 was allotted to us. A reasonably warm welcome and help in storing our bags until we checked into our room started it of well.
Then the problems started. The apartment stank of stale (attar) perfume. The cloth hanging over the windows were a poor excuse for curtains. The room heater didn't heat sufficiently as there was a cold draft seeping in thru the windows (subsequently resolved by adding a portable heater). Then the bathroom - the basin clogged up quickly . The shower worked only in spurts alternating boiling and freezing water which was subsequently repaired. Just as we were settling in it was time yo check out. And sure enough - another problem. A knock on the door from the management team bringing in the plumbers to check a leak in the bathroom below. We were told to evacuate and given another (better) room and the entire day before checking out.
The bottom line was that while the service and attitude were very good, hardware was extremely poor especially if you're shelling out 160 pounds per night. Probably will reconsider staying here next time. Maybe some rooms require an overhaul or refurbishing.

Our group of 3 adults requested an apartment on the upper floor at the back of the hotel with twin beds and a sofa bed. All our requests were met.

The quality of hotels/apartments in London can obviously vary and is subject to individual opinions, but I agree with many of the other reviewers on here. The apartments are spacious and well equiped with crockery, cutlery, utensils, microwave, hob, washing machine, 2 Tv's, DVD player etc, (but strangely no kettle).

The location was excellent with nearby tubes of Marble Arch, Bond St and Oxford Circus. There are supermarkets, coffee lounges and cafes close by, as well as the numerous restaurants and boutiques in James St and St Christopher Place.

The guy on reception was very friendly, yet professional, which was a really nice welcome after a day of travelling.

For 3 adults, the price was similar, if not cheaper than getting a triple or separate rooms in a hotel, but you had the addition of the extra space, separate bedroom and kitchen facilities.

The only negative was the sofabed - very uncomfortable. It is also only useful for one person - 2 children would struggle, especially if they are 'wrigglers'.

The next time I visit London, for all the good points, I will return to these apartments.

We stayed in a Studio room. The location - close to Oxford St. (and Primark) shopping and 10 min walk to 3 Tube stations, the kitchen was very nice and can save a lot on food with the Tesco Express very near, the service was great and friendly. The rooms big and great if you're more then 2 people, leaves room to move around. TheTV was great, the bathroom specious and the amenaties very nice (including a toothbrush and paste!), The wifi worked great all the time. The heating towel rack is a big plus in the winter.
We were able to leave our bags for the whole day, after checking out, which was very helpful.

The only minus is that the sofabed isn't too comforable, and we ran out of hot water one evening
