“Great tour and guide- wonderful experience!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2010

We traveled with our 1 yr old daughter and the staff was very helpful and supportive. We took the Stonehenge, Salisbury and Bath tour with them. We had enough time to spend at all the places and our guide Margot kept us on schedule. She also told us about the history of the places and culture and anecdotes. They tried to accommodate everyone's needs and were very helpful in picking up the drop off points and the directions. In all we had a wonderful experience and will book with them again for more tours.

Thank you for your feedback. I would like to apologise for any disappointment that you felt during your tour. It is very surprising to me that you would complain about this guide. He is a very experienced tour guide who offers an extensive amount of knowledge and provides an entertaining tour. We actually get a lot of good feedback and praise for him, in fact another client has just posted a good review for this guide. I will certainly pass along your feedback, but if you would like to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

“Be careful on this one”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2010

We took the Leeds-Dover-Centerbury tour recently, and what a joke that was. To start with, they sold us this tour for Good Friday, which meant the main attraction - the Canterbury Catherdral - was closed. They did allow us to change dates without a problem. The staff that day was actually very nice and helpful. We went that following Monday instead, to much disappointment. The tour guide was absolutely horrible. He was rude and unhelpful to everyone - including the tour lady at Leeds castle. The part about seeing the clifffs of Dover was a joke - we got out of the bus for 10 minutes to take some pictures of the cliffs still miles away. Waste of time! The part about "Seeing Greenwich observatory" is simply driving past it and seeing it from quite a distance without the bus even stopping. It was obsurd! The 'River Cruise" is nothing more than a river taxi that you could take at anytime and that has many stops along the Themes - like the underground. Save your money and time and just take the train to Canterbury. It's by far the best part of the trip and if you do it yourself, then you don't have to worry about meeting back up at the bus to an obnoxious tour guide.

Thank you for contacting us with your feedback and we would like to address your comments.

As you can appreciate, our sightseeing tours operate throughout the year but on some occasions the venues we use may close due to special events which was the case with Canterbury Cathedral. Although Canterbury is one of the main highlights, our guests still can enjoy the beauty of Leeds Castle and lovely Kentish countryside, admire the view of the famous White Cliffs of Dover, see London from the river ,and view the famous Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich. The tour is also built around a tight schedule to enable clients to see the best of all the attractions visited, Therefore, regarding the stop at Dover, we allow sufficient time for a photo opportunity of the White Cliffs and Dover Castle and a short break for clients to stretch their legs. The tour also allows clients to view maritime Greenwich both from land and the water and the guide will point out any points of interest such as the Royal Naval College, There is no mention in our brochure of seeing the Observatory , although, again it can be viewed from the river. At the end of the day we provide a river cruise to take clients back from London which is a very popular end to the tour as you can view some of London’s top attractions from the water, and the feedback that we have received from clients is that it is a very relaxing and enjoyable end to their day. Regarding your comments about the guide, they are chosen for their knowledge and

sense of humour, and we have always received favourable responses, but we value your opinion and the comments you have made.

All in all we visit a lot in one day and our tours are designed for clients that would like to do just that. I am sorry that you wanted to spend more time at destinations, which really our tour schedule is not designed to do.

“Worst part of our eight day trip to London.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 11, 2010

Worst part of our eight day trip to London. We took the Leeds Castle, Dover, Canterbury, and Greenwich tour. The tour left late, waiting for a group of Spanish speaking tourists. Tour guide had to speak both Spanish and English, so he barely did any talking. The Guide only said about five sentences at each venue. We constantly were behind schedule. The lunch was recommended by the guide, who then didn't go to lunch with the group (overpriced fish and chips). Dover was parking near the ferry terminal to take pictures for ten whole minutes (took us nearly an hour to drive there and another hour to go to Canterbury). The Guide didn't make clear when we were to meet or where to go in Canterbury, and we didn't have time to take their tours. Greenwich was us driving to the Thames Cruise boat (we didn't go), and my wife and myself getting 15 minutes late to the Observatory. Don't use there guys. Much better tour operators are in town for less than you pay for these guys. Rather than take this tour, arrange your own transport and do the tours as singles, especially since the Guide was absolutely worthless

I would like to offer my apologies for any disappointment during your tour with us. I would also like to take this opportunity to address some of your points. Out coach tours are scheduled to depart at 08:45am, however we are required to wait an additional 5-10 minutes for any late arriving clients. We do get clients from all over the world and offer a few bilingual tours such as the tour you were on for English speaking and Spanish speaking guests. The guides highlight different sites in both languages which is why you experienced the tour in both English and Spanish.
I am surprised that you didn’t enjoy your two course meal that is offered on this tour! We normally get such great feedback about the cuisine, but we will certainly pass along the feedback to the restaurant. On this particular tour, Dover is a photo stop as outlined in our marketing material. We find that it is well worth the drive to take in the exquisite views of the castle and the cliffs. Our tours are designed to see as much as possible on a day trip, and taking into consideration that we visit five different locations during a nine-hour tour. I apologise that you felt the guide was unclear on a meeting point and time in Canterbury. All of our guides have years of experience so I am surprised to hear this. With regards to the visit at Greenwich, the brochure is clear that there isn’t time for a guided visit as there is so much to see; you could easily spend an entire day visiting some of the sites at Greenwich. It is a whistlestop tour! If I may also clarify, we are not any more expensive than other tour operators for this tour. We are in fact cheaper than most others and offer more in our tour than other companies. I do sincerely apologise that you were disappointed with the tour, and if you would like to discuss the matter further, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
