“Enjoyable summer drink”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2013

Hidden away in an East London backstreet between Cable St and The Highway, reputedly London's only surviving Victorian Music Hall has come alive again.

Stripped right back to its original features without any attempt at modern overlay (aside from electricity and safety) it is very easy to transport yourself back to Victorian London and imagine a boisterous audience, in the stalls or overhanging balcony space, expressing their feelings about the periods "Britains Got Talent" on display.

The Mahogany Bar is open daily to the public so it is possible to visit Wilton's Music Hall even without a show ticket.

A must for those interested in Victoriana and/or Music Halls or just for a summer(no heating) drink in a quirky licensed establishment. Your support will also help towards the ongoing renovation of the site.

Loved it.

“Wonderous”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 4, 2013

Worth finding. The first time I went, the place was buzzing with performers mingling with audience and bar dwellers, dressed to the nines, performing small skits and getting us all to sing-a-long. Just popped in for a drink but got totally enveloped into the community, totally felt at home. Big plus the Hendricks gin both to drink and the bottles used as vases. I returned last night for Cocktails in what was the speakeasy. Busy bar staff still had time to chat as they made extremely tasty cocktails, no one minded the wait... tremendous place, can't wait to return.

“Must visit. To go on Mondays or Tuesdays.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 26, 2013

As a London resident I have to say: it's a tiny gem. No turists, great history and great atmosphere. For those who appreciate good music and good beer, go early on monday or tuesday, ask for a The Kernel IPA (great beer) and enjoy some folk music (that usually starts about 9pm). The cherry on top: donate to help Wilton's and get some awesome free bites.
