Please do yourself a favour and stay away from this place. It's cheap, but certainly not worth the price. The rooms look like they've never been cleaned, because they most likely never have, and the bathrooms are so filthy that you actually feel dirtier AFTER you've taken a shower. Trains passing by the hotel make an insane amount of noise, even with the windows closed. They stop at about 01:00 in the morning, but continue at 05:00. The staff is also extremely unhelpful and rude, making absolutely no effort to make your stay a pleasant one. They do not deserve your money, spend it elsewhere.

Room Tip: You're still considering staying here? You're better off sleeping on the street, and more li...

I just came back from 3 nights at the Aquarius Hotel and overall I had a fairly pleasant experience. I was coming to London to attend an event at the Earl's Court exhibition centre and this hotel is ideally located, with about 2 minutes walking distance of the Earls Court tube station and about 5-10 minutes (depending how fast you walk) to the exhibition centre. The main reason why I decided to stay here was the price, with just £40 per night for a single room this was an absolute bargain, and the single cheapest hotel I have found in the area. Other hotels in the area wanted £50+ per night so this was great value. The prices also stay flat throughout the year and are not inflated during peak periods.

However, coming to this hotel needs to be an educated choice because there are many possible downsides. The interiors are not only outdated, but also there is no sign of even any basic maintenance. The furniture is dusty and filthy, the carpets and curtains are in desperate need of a deep clean. The grout in the bathroom is black in places , the shower rail for the curtain is rusty and some impressive limescale built up around the sink and the shower head. The TV did not work at all and the windows barely opened. The wardrobe was rather rickety, and the fridge was in desperate need of defrosting and it had several burn marks on the top, not to mention years worth of dust that built up behind it. Cables were sticking out of the walls, the lamps were just bare light bulbs and in places the paint was fading from the walls.

There are no brew making facilities in the room and with no WiFi or even a working TV there was very little to do in the hotel room. Room service consisted of changing your bin bag and giving you a fresh towel, the bed was left untouched. The breakfast was as advertised - basic. Toast was the only item on the menu, but you did get to chose between butter or jam to put on it. Some people brought their own cheese, so that's always an option. Drinks were limited to cordial ,coffee ,tea and water. The toast was unlimited and was not that bad.

The staff seemed friendly enough which was good.

Also, because the hotel is located next to the tube station, you can hear the trains going past quite clearly, and the hotel tends to shake a little as the trains go past, but personally I was so tired at night that it didn't really bother me that much.

Overall, I came to this hotel well prepared after reading some of the reviews, I brought my own sleeping bag and crocks for showering in. I knew that this place would be filthy, but I also knew of the great location and the best price in the area. I wanted to take as much money as I could for the convention, and spend as little as I could for the hotel. For this price, I think it was worth it. But it really has to be a conscientious choice. This place is filthy and it will be for a long time in the future, but this hotel isn't going anywhere because of the low price. So please don't go there if you expect anything more than a filthy dump with a bed.

Would I recommend it to a friend? Yes I would, but I would also inform them of the downsides. You need to be aware of what you are paying for here, if you want to save and you are prepared to sleep in filth for a couple of nights, then this is your place.

Room Tip: You need to understand what you are paying for before you book this hotel

We arrived at Earls Court tube and five mins later were at the hotel, the room was very small, dirty, wardrobe falling apart and the carpet needed putting in the nearest skip. Bathroom was very dirty to a point it could have been disease ridden. The wash basin was in with the bed.The fridge needed to go back to the tip it was rescued from. The underground is out of the bedroom window, jump out of the window and your on the lines. The tube runs till the early hours and shakes the hotel apart.
We paid £75 for two nights, 15 mins from London centre.... excellent location , one hotel yards away were charging £167 per night. More an hostel than hotel. Now for a bath at home.
A bit of work and not much money could make it so much better.

THIS PLACE WAS AWFUL! I have stayed in a lot of bad hotels but this is the first time I have been compelled to write a review! The hotel is near the tube station but they forget to mention you can hear the trains go by every 2 minutes until 1:30 pm!!! We had to buy ear buds to block out the noise! the staff were EXTREMELY RUDE, unhelpful and the hotel was grimy, the floor needs to be replaced, the rooms were filthy and the bathroom looked like it had never been cleaned, even prostitutes would complain. I would rather sleep in the street.

Room Tip: All the rooms are disgusting, do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else

Another pleasant stay here, this time at Easter, 40 pounds on Easter Sunday night, you would be hard pushed to find a better deal, plenty of hot coffee, tea and toast to get you started in the morning. And room was cleaned to a good standard, will be back in December 2013 for a New year break.

We were placed at the bottom of the hotel. You can hear the tube trains pass every couple of minutes, all day long.
The bed was horrible, and sheets were gross. The carpet needs to be replaced. The shower and toilet are so tiny.

Location was excellent and staff were friendly.

Breakfast is basic

Room Tip: Ask to put on the top floor, far away from the basement.

Ok, so this isn't the most amazing hotel you will ever stay in, but here are the good & bad points:

GOOD POINTS: 3 mins walk from Earls court tube station, clean bedding, clean bathroom, hot running water, en-suite & only £35 a night for 2 people. An absolute bargain considering its central London location. Also, on the night we stayed it was quiet as its not on a main road.

BAD POINTS: Room was a bit dusty and could do with a deep clean. Carpets & curtains would also benefit from a wash/clean. The receptionist was a bit grumpy too. Not sure he wanted to be there! The room is quite small too but we didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel as were out most of the time so didn't really worry too much.

Altogether a good place to stay if you just need somewhere to sleep and aren't going to spend a lot of time there. Could benefit from some refurbishment and extra cleaning but considering it was only £5 a night for the both of us you get what you pay for.

Regarding the breakfast, we can't comment as we didn't have this.
