This hotel is located near King's cross. Only a 2 minute walk will bring you to the biggest metro and train station (st pancras) in london city. The rooms are very small (not a lot of comfort) but clean. What more do you want for this price when you're out all day?
The staff is very friendly! We stayed here for 3 nights and than took the train to guildford (2nights). When we returned to London, it was no problem to leave our bags there even though we didn't sleep there the nigh before.

The Wardonia Hotel (basic, no frills rooms), 46-54 Argyle Street London, I found in both Google Map Search for hotels near the King's Cross tube station (2 block) and within proximity to the British Library (2 blocks away). It was also recommended by a forum post on Rick Steve's website.

It was 50 Pounds per night, versus the St. Pancras Hotel across the street from King's Cross tube Station which was 250 Pounds per night (luxury). I was in a single, basic room, with a bed, en suite bathroom and shower, cable TV, free WiFi in the room (be careful when booking accommodations anywhere to check to see if WiFi is in the room or if you have to go to the lobby/pub, etc to get it.) It also had a terrific view of the clock tower of St. Pancras Station from my window. It's a quiet street, set two short blocks from the tube station.

It takes an hour on the Picadilly line (no changes) from Heathrow. That's the least expensive way to get there from Heathrow, and easy to get an Oyster card (put money on the card, and just swipe to enter the station, swipe at destination, and put money on the card as needed),

The rooms at the Wardonia are clean, and I really liked the fact that they had someone manning the front desk 24/7. The staff is helpful, and they have a display rack of brochures, some of which offer discounts to attractions. There is a grocery store in St. Pancras station, several mom and pop shops with fresh fruit nearby (the best time to go is around 4 or 5 pm when they're discounting the day's produce).

There is no elevator, but they will help get you upstairs if you have heavy luggage. The rooms are not large, but they are comfortable. For the purpose of this review, they do not have a swimming pool or restaurant, but there are plenty of restaurants, including the British Library cafe, and O'Neill's Pub, a Burger King, A Subway Restaurant, and a McDonald's in short walking distance.

Room Tip: Rooms facing back have less street noise. But, it's offset from the main road, Eustan Street by two blocks. If you're a light sleeper, might be worth it. I appreciated the view of St. Pancras Clock Tower, and didn't mind the occasional, distant sirens, as I'm a heavy sleeper.

Good hotel.Very cheap, and for these prize it is good. Clean room, but very-very small!!!! new bathroom. The bed was not big for two persons! But thats good choise for couples day in London .Espesially if you go somewhere from KingsKross or St Pancras. By foot around 20 mitutes from Oxford street, around 40 minutes from Trafalgar square and 1 hour from Tower.

Just returned from a four night stay at the Wardonia. We were a little concerned after reading some of the reviews before we left home, but this is a great hotel in an excellent location for getting round London. Yes, the room was small - but you don't go to London to sit in your hotel room. It has everything you need and is exceptionally clean and maintained.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast in the pub round the corner was a good way to start the day.

We will definitely return to this hotel when we next visit London.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the first floor

As many reviewers said, the location is very convenient (from the tube, take the Euston Road South exit, not the North one!) and you will be there in less than 5 minutes. Again, the room and bathroom are small, but enough to be functional, and very clean and well-maintained. I got lucky I got a room on the 1st floor facing the St Pancras Tower, which was a nice touch! As a female travelling solo, I was a little concerned about the area being so close to train stations (which can be seedy sometimes), but never felt unsafe and, actually, quite enjoyed the convenience of all the shops, grocery stores and restaurants in them.

There's a pub right next to the hotel that serves breakfast ($5.95 for English or continental breakfast). No complaints on the Wi-Fi, which worked great throughout my stay.

It was nice I was allowed to pay for the hotel at any time of my stay, rather than upfront as in many hotels I've stayed in the past. That can be a great help for those with daily withdrawal limits on their ATM card if you're planning to pay cash.

I recommend and definitely would stay there again...
