This is the classic Tripadvisor hotel winner. Clean, modern, hip, an outright steal by London price gouging standards and a very fun hotel experience. We loved it. It simply can't be beat in London without shelling out at least three times the cost and possibly still ending up somewhere a bit musty, dusty and long in the tooth. The Shoreditch area where it is located is the perfect example of an up and coming area. Lots of trendy restaurants and bars and a few not so pretty storefronts alongside. It's also a bit feast or famine when it comes to the crowd in the neighborhood. On Friday night it was a total mob scene everywhere you looked. On Sunday it was a ghost town.
As to the Hoxton, it was happening at all times, not in a really obnoxious way, but in a very fun and lively way. The rooms are quite compact, but very chic. The free hour of phone calls around the world is an amazing treat, and the super quick and free wifi is just another marker of a hotel that knows its market and is on its game. They also have an arrangement with a gym down the street which we used twice that was a great option to have a real size gym/pool/spa for a very reasonable seven pound rate.
