“Great value”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

We stayed for just 2 nights in late July in two rooms. We booked 7 months earlier, so got a great deal on the rooms. We asked for our kids to be located near to us, and the front desk ensured they were right next door. The shower was awesome! I was concerned about the location, but we quite enjoyed it -- particularly Beigel Bake and Spitalfields market on Sunday, two places we would never have ventured to had we stayed in a more mainstream location.

If you're prepared to book well in advance, the Hoxton Hotel can't be beat on price.

We stayed for one night at the Hoxton, on a Sunday. Check-in was professional, friendly and prompt. Although we were early they made every effort to (and succeeded in) finding us a room that was already prepared.
The room wasn’t huge but it was quite adequate, clean and well presented; the beds were very comfortable, too. You’re provided with the usual tea and coffee facilities and, rather than a mini-bar, a fridge: the deal is that you can buy drinks from reception at high-street prices, which is a nice touch. Wifi is free but the signal in our room, on the fifth floor, was rather weak. There was also a wired connection with a flying lead for laptops and a few Macs near reception for general use although there were plenty of people wanting to use them on the few occasions we checked.
You also get a breakfast provided by means of hanging a paper bag outside the room indicating how many are required and at what time. It consists of some fruit juice, a yoghurt and some fruit. If you’re looking for something more substantial you can get it in the grill on the ground floor - we didn’t try that.
There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby but quite a few are closed, or their kitchens close early in the case of pubs, on a Sunday night. It’s much livelier on Fridays.
Checkout was also smooth and professional.
Overall this is a clean, well-presented hotel with a high level of service and we wouldn’t hesitate to use it again.

Back yet again - can't fault this hotel for value. The rooms may be small but have nearly everything including free internet and international calls, fresh milk in the fridge and a fantastic atmosphere. OK - it comes across as a trendy place for young folk, but us older ones felt right at home here. Really friendly and helpful staff make this one of the best places to stay in London if you're on a budget.

It's also really convenient - 2 stops on the tube from Kings Cross and in an arty and interesting part of London.

A great place to stay if you are looking for a hotel where the attitude is casual, the bed is very comfortable and there is a great energy in the lobby made by the IT and creative people from the area occupying it. Great meeting rooms.

Room Tip: The rooms in the back (West-facing) have a great view of the City and London skyline.

The Hoxton is clean, comfortable, well-situated with friendly staff but ... I don´t know if it was because it was a Friday night or the Friday night of a Bank Holiday weekend but the lobby/bar area was taken over by the noisiest party/disco. I doubt whether many of those present were guests at the hotel but if you had wanted to have a quite drink and a chat there in the evening you could forget it. The management should think about their guests first.

The bathroom could have had a toilet brush supplied.

Room Tip: Unless you are a party animal avoid staying Friday nights if you can find a suitable alternative at...

Hi Chiter0,

Thanks for your feedback, great to hear you enjoyed the stay here at the Hoxton.

Sorry to hear that you couldn't find a seat in the busy bar during your stay, the front desk will always be able to find you a seat in a quiet area of the hotel if required.

Look forward to seeing you back at the Hoxton soon

Thanks

Ben

This was my first and definately wont be my last stay here. To me the Hoxton is like staying in a five star hotel without all the unecessary stuffiness. Its relaxed but welcoming, comtempary and tastefully furnished. Everything is functional and whoever designed the rooms has thought of every detail and need. The staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming, the rooms are spotless. When you enter your room you feel as though no one has ever used that room before. If only all hotels were like this.

WOW - A 5 star hotel without the stuffiness - that's a killer line! Can we use that one for our promo leaflets?

Always happy to hear it when a guest shares our love for the Hox, especially when it's their first stay! See you again soon!

I always stay at this hotel whenever I am in London for the past 3-4 years. Definitely best value if you have business in the City. Close to the Emirates Stadium too. The restaurant and bar are amazing, very cool and crowded, especially on weekends. The "Pret" breakfast in the morning is charming. Rooms are small. Good (but then perfect) for solo travel only.
