Not quite sure how I’ve managed to miss these lovely gardens before. I guess I’m normally driving along the Embankment, not walking. So the pleasure of these beautifully kept gardens was a total surprise. Gardeners were busy renewing the planting in the main flower bed near the deckchair area. Everywhere you look there are monuments, including to Robert Burns, Arthur Sullivan and a number of other illustrious people. I was lucky to see it on a gloriously sunny morning, but it must be a joy in any weather. There are two Underground stations close by: Embankment and Temple, as well as bus routes. So pleased I’ve found these gardens at last.

A lovely park set in the centre of London. Surrounded by trees to shield you from London noise. Plenty of seats including deck chairs to chill out or eat your lunch.

Great location for this peaceful series of gardens. Dotted with memorial statutes. Jogging track. Places to sit and relax. Excellent!

Walking along Victoria Embankment is a lot easier than doing the same journey on the Southbank. If you fancy some peace and quiet, or just a small rest these gardens are very pleasant, cool and well kept. Lovely area.

I love the sign on the gate to the gardens that has at least a dozen red-circle symbols of what you may and may not do in the park. It's chucklingly good.

Setting that aside, the park is restful. The bankside walk is nice, but it is more lovely, I think, to detour inside the park. Cool, dark, green, beautiful and inspiring with monuments
