“Nice little Gastro Pub”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

Booked the Brook Green on a recommendation from someone who had stayed at another Young's Pub hotel in the UK.

We were on the first floor facing the street but with two layers of windows it is actually quite quiet [if they're shut]. The only noise, as others have mentioned, is the sirens.. The bathrooms are ample but preferred our second room the best [5].

Room was an average size - we stayed in two different rooms as we broke up the trip to go elsewhere [2 nights + then 3 nights].

The staff are outstanding - in particular Shivon [might not have spelled that right] as she helped us out with a problem concerning our late arrival]. Lots of choice for breakfast and they were quite willing to deviate from the menu. The only thing for us was that we would have liked to have been closer to central London but for the price this was perfect. I must have checked about 50 hotels before booking this one! We ate there one night and the food was very good!

Primark and M&S are right around the corner from the Hammersmith tube stop.

The only tip I can think of is to ask for a "back up plan" if your flight is delayed and you end up arriving after 2300.

Thank you Brook Green!

We stayed here for a week. First floor room, right above the breakfast/bar area. Maybe it's because we live in a city anyway, but the pub noise some complained about was not an issue for us (we actually both commented that the room was really quiet ... except for the sirens outside and the music from a different building on a Saturday night).

Room itself was very clean with giant ceilings. Our shower needed to be resealed (sorry about the puddle of water on the floor each morning...), and the drain was pretty darn slow. I hadn't specified the type of double room, so we ended up with two twin beds instead of a single bed (stupid American here =) ). Beds were comfortable, though, and we were quite happy with our room.

Breakfast was great, though the amount of food and speed of cooking really varied day by day. The traditional English was lovely; the eggs benedict were good though not so runny; the coffee was amazing. The assortment of cold things also varied day by day -- the day I ordered porridge, they didn't have any fruit out. =(

The staff were really, really wonderful! I think they made the whole place. We were arriving late on a Sunday -- past the time they normally closed -- and someone offered to wait for us. We also left early -- before the time they open for breakfast -- and they let us check out the night before. They really do want to make sure your stay is just perfect, and are incredibly accommodating.

The neighborhood is pretty awesome -- ten minutes north on Shepherd's Bush, you hit another area that has a ton of food options. Five minutes south, you're at the underground station with a mall and more restaurants. The city center is a 40ish minute ride away, give or take.

There could definitely be some little upgrades here and there, but overall, I was happy with what we got for the price we paid (though do bring a copy of your reservation -- I ended up paying more when we checked out because I'd forgotten the booking price and agreed with the bill. Whoops.).

Room Tip: Make sure you ask how many beds there are. ;-)

We stayed here during the London 2012 Olympics. The place is good value. The rooms are average sized, bath room on the small side. Free wifi, flat screen tv with cable.
15 rooms over three floors over a gastro pub. Second floor and higher are not affected by noise from the pub. No elevator. Pub closes at 11pm on weekdays and around midnight on weekends. No night reception. Emergency phone number available and after hours access through the backyard. Shepherd Bush road is a major thoroughfare and the hotel is near both a fire station and a police station, so do expect to hear sirens throughout the night. We are used to that at home so did not mind. The pub serves good meals (no pub grub), but the kitchen is rather slow.
Breakfast is served in the pub from 7am, but expect to sit for at least an hour as the kitchen is very slow. An extra order of toast took 15 minutes. Breakfast menu offers a wide choice of cooked and cold items.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. At night the pub is a great place to have a drink, a meal or a snack. Nice crowd. We could watch the olympics on a couple of big flat screen tv's. Not a place for a quiet romantic meal. A large garden at the back of the pub for those sparse warm summer evenings. '
Bus stop in front of hotel, Hammersmith tube ten minute walk away. Plenty of eateries and cafe's in the vicinity.

We stayed at the Brook Green hotel for 3 nights while in London for the Olympics. We found that this was one of the only hotels that didn't skyrocket their rates during this time. Overall, we had a wonderful experience. The manager Sinead was very helpful as well as the rest of the staff, especially Ben. They helped us with questions that we had about transportation and events going on during our stay. Breakfast was great and plentiful! The rooms were kept spotless. Also, the location of the hotel is very convenient-just a 10 minute walk from Hammersmith tube station. We'd definitely stay here again!

It's unlikely you're in the area unless you get lost trying to find the awful Westfield or a local and if you are, fair enough. It's a reasonable priced, reasonable fooded pub, gastronomed by soft seating, pastel colours and newspapers strategically placed for cool and lazy Sundays.

Room Tip: This is a review of the 'gastro' pub

Spent one night here on a Sat night. Impressive interior in the pub (but without many customers during our time there), rather tired looking hotel rooms and corridors could do with a spruce up. We paid £99 which meant that it was ok value for money. Breakfast in the morning was generally disappointing, fruit juice wasn't fresh, chef didn't know how to poach an egg, not a massive amount of choice, no newspapers to read.
Fairly convenient location 10 mins walk from Hammersmith tube.

We Spent one night in this Hotel after a show at the Hammersmith Apolo. We were greeted by a lovely cheerful girl. Booking in was effortless. Our room was on the 5th floor which was quite a hike but for one night only it was manageable .....puff puff and oxygen require...lol. The room was adequately kitted out as was the bathroom. Paint work was a little scuffed and tired but nothing too unpleasant. There was a little noise during the night...sirens ect...and loud enough to wake us up. So very light sleepers wouldn't get a good nights rest if they were front street facing. Breakfast promised to be lovely by what we read on the menu. Sadly it did not live up to expectations. However credit where credit is due...once we pointed out that our breakfast was well below par we were offered new fresh breakfasts (which we declined due to time schedule). The manager who was horrified offered his sincere apology and then deemed it necessary to refund us for our un-edible food....so fair play. I'd go back so all in all not such a bad place.
