I cannot recommend this museum more! Seeing such a wide range of animals and organs preserved for so long for medical science is fascinating and definitely a great place to take kids who are into that kind of thing. It's not a huge museum but I spent a good two hours looking around and could easily have spent longer there.

Lockers are available on floor -1 for a £1 refundable deposit.

Cycle facilities are available outside the museum as well as more racks on the other side of Lincoln's Inn Fields.

This museum was incredibly impressive with the amount of specimens that they have acquired. I got lost in all the jars of human and animal specimens. Great for aspiring medical and veterinarian students. There were also a lot of art students sketching the specimens for practice.

It may just be because I have a weird fascination with death, but I love this place. The animals and humans in jars are genuinely intriguing. Would recommend for aspiring medics.

We are always on the lookout for something different to do when we are in London and this certainly qualifies. If you have ever been to the Mutter Museum in Philadelphia this one is similar.

It is grossly fascinating if you know what I mean. Lots of specimens in bottles to look at and also a small collection of paintings including a Holbein which is why we went there. It is within walking distance of the Strand Palace and just across the park from the Soane Museum and close to Lincoln Fields and the courts.

This musuem is light and bright and well designed. The shelves and shelves of "specimens" are fascinating and far less gruesome than I expected.
