my kids will forever remember this day. royal parades, jets, cannons, the queen, so much pomp and circumstance to see and behold. plus, the crowds of well wishers were entertaining themselves.

Brilliant proud to be British. Great time of year to come to visit the Capital all the pomp and circumstance, all the Royals out in their carriages plus a fly over. Perfect. It was worth the wait to be part of the crowd on the Mall awaiting the Queen. Of course it had to rain but this is England wouldn't be the same without the water.

We jus happened to be in London on 8th June and got a great view in front of Buckingham Palace and watched the practice run of Trouping the Colour. It is an amazing event to see, the whole event was stunning and makes you proud to be British.

If you happen to be in London for the Queen's official birhday in mid-June don't miss this annual spectacular. Massed bands and Household cavalry march down the Mall to Horseguards Parade. Make sure you arrive early to get a good view of the Queen, usually she rides down The Mall in an open topped carriage (weather dependant) and some members of the Royal Family will ride on horseback resplendant in their military uniforms. The Trooping ceremony takes place at Horseguards Parade. This year the Colour (flag)will be "trooped" or paraded by the Wesh Guard. I feel sorry fo the guardsmen in very hot weather and it had been known for some to faint as they overheat in their bearskins!
After the parade the Queen returns to Buckingham Palace and come out onto the balony at Buckingham Palace to wave at the crowds and to watch the Royal Air Force fly past with other members of the Royal Family.
It certainly is a truely memorable experience......don't miss it!
