First off you need to get there early as its gets very busy and crowded. Its good to see the set up anyway. I did not stand in one space but just generally walked around. The bands start to march about 10ish before the Queen and Royalty arrive in the carriages.
Once the queen has gone its quite a wait till they march back so its time for a warm up and a coffee.
Now for the tip that was given to me by two gents that go every year and to every Royal event, so i listened..... Don't stand near the front by the palace because when the police let you on to the Mall it is done from the top end down so if your near the Palace then your last out. i stood half way down by the gates not far from a opening. Once it was opened i walked along the edge and got to Queen Victoria Monument. Go some great shots and was in prime location.
If your in London then this is well worth seeing
