“This is for the cafe!!”

If you you want a world class park get rid if that awful 1970s style cafe. It's run by people who care obviously for money and not food or service. I would ask how they keep the licence buys its obvious. Money.

Other than this place the park is fantastic. Get it sorted.

“Read the history first!”
Reviewed February 19, 2014 via mobile

We have lived in and around Crystal Palace for over 25 years. It is a 'default' park for us. It has changed over the years. The dry ski slope came and went, the children's zoo came and went (including Oliver, the talking bird). The National Sports Centre is physically still there. Great athletics in the summer. It is used all year round for sports.

The Concert Bowl is still there, but not used much. The Maze is there.

The history is fantastic. The Dinosaurs, well, amazing. The steps, the terraces.

Apparently, a Chinese Billionaire wants to rebuild a 'modern' Crystal Palace atop the hill.

What a great idea, and a fitting use. I hope it comes off.

There is lots on the Web about the Palace. Please read it and then visit, be in awe of what the Victorians managed.

Extremely useless staff, who clearly do not know how to serve or even give the right change! Prices are sky high, you are better off bringing your own food/picnic. Ice cream prices are ridiculous aswell. Me and my partner ordered their special "chicken kebab" meal. To my surprise, the food was cooked and served at decent timing however the chicken kebab was burnt on the outside and raw on the inside! The bulgar wheat tasted stale as if it had been in the fridge for a week and the salad was not fresh! I am sadden that this place is like this, I have been to this park & cafe for nearly 20 years. I reckon it is all down to the new management, who ever it is - should step up their game and stop serving cheap basic food from wholesalers and cook fresh! Our park & our families does not deserve to be ripped off whilst out enjoying this beautiful & amazing park.

“Dinosaurs in London!”
Reviewed January 30, 2014 via mobile

This sprawling green space has a wonderful display of dinosaur statues in natural settings along with informative signs and interactive features. Wander the paths to the site of the former palace, enjoy coffee at one of the cafes, or visit the stadium. Something for everyone.

“A great South London park”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

This is fabulous park, full of pleasures and surprises. It has the famous dinosaurs, constructed by the Victorians to show what pre-historic creatures looked like following their fossil discoveries and Darwin's Origin of Species. You can also see remnants of the Crystal Palace exhibition centre itself that burned down here in 1936. There is an old Victorian maze, now restored, and an excellent café. It is a big park so check with the maps at the entrance to orientate yourself. I go back there again and again.
