“excellent staff, fantastic room, value for money”
Reviewed September 26, 2011

I have already stayed here once with work...me and my husband then stayed again for our wedding anniversary on 1st July and had a Junior Suite. We had been planning the trip to London for a year. The hotel was lovely and the staff were great...there were chocolate dipped strawberries waiting for us in the room and balloons when we arrived which was lovely. However about two months before our trip I rang and got put through to the concierge service as I wanted to organise for a bottle of Laurent Perrier Rose champagne to arrive at our room at 7.00pm to surprise my husband whilst we were getting ready. Anyway I was waiting and waiting...of course I couldnt phone down to ask where it was as that would ruin the surprise...7.45pm came and eventually I had no choice but to tell my husband as I didnt know whether it would eventually turn up or not and we had a table booked at Murano for dinner at 9pm. We went and asked at the excecutive lounge and they asked us to wait whilst they found out what happened. Again we were kept waiting until 8.30 and then were told to go back in our room where it was all waiting for us along with some cakes to say sorry. However we ended up being late for the restuarant!
Apart from that I couldnt fault the hotel...the room was huge with a fantastic view. The executive lounge was fantastic as was breakfast.
We are coming back again this Friday 30th sept for my birthday and staying in a junior suite again which is excellent value for money. I feel like we are regulars now!!

Thank you for posting a review, I am glad that in general you could not find fault with your stay back in July, with the exception of not delivering your champagne on time. I am pleased that you will be returning to the hotel on Friday 30 September to celebrate your birthday.

We'd never previously have thought of staying at this hotel but were faced with a long family celebration on the south bank and wanted somewhere to crash out after the party. After a lot of searching around the Hilton came out as our best option on a special last minute rate - and we were not disappointed. The location is surprisingly convenient for onward travel anywhere along the Jubilee line or the DLR - both of which have stations within 5 minutes easy walk of the hotel. We were able to get from the hotel to a restaurant we were meeting everyone at in Vinopolis (near Tower Bridge tube) in under 20 minutes door-to-door.

Our room was large (by UK standards), quiet and coo; (good, individually adjustable a/c), and had the most comfortable (enormous) bed we've slept in for a long time. Everything looked clean and new and was in good working order in keeping with 4-star levels. Breakfast on Sunday morning was busy but staff did their best not to keep people waiting more than a few minutes. The food quality (choice of continental and English cooked buffet) was indeed very good and set us up for the rest of the day. Our rate included breakfast, which was just as well as they charge a hefty £20.95 each for the cooked breakfast otherwise.

Not having been to Canary Wharf before, we found plenty to see and do after checking out of the hotel and leaving our bags with the concierge for safe-keeping. There are a good selection of shops, restaurant and pubs and contrary to popular belief the area was far from being deserted at weekends. The excellent Museum of London at Docklands was also well worth seeing. We returned to central London on the Thames Clipper boat service (£5.50 single to Waterloo), for which the quay is approximately 15 minutes walk away from the hotel - not as convenient as the tube but worth it as a on-off just to see the river from a different perspective.

We'd definitely stay at this hotel again if we find ourselves looking for somewhere to stay over after a night out.

My wife and I stayed here earlier this year and we found the hotel to very clean, modern and in an excellent location. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable, the food was very good and the room service was impeccable. We are flying over from Sweden next weekend with our 2 teenage boys to see a show at the o2 and we thought we would treat ourselves with another stay at this Hilton, we've made a few special requests like early check in and an adjoining room to our suite and the staff have been absolutley amazing, particularly Maike Tiedemann (the Assistant Front of House Manager), he has replied to our emails within hours and been very helpful. If you want to stay in this part of London then this is without doubt the best place we have stayed.

Room Tip: Try and get rooms with a view of the river, the higher up the better

Stayed here for a weekend in September celebrating our wedding anniversary. The room and bathroom very clean and spacious although the bed could have been more comfortable. Well located for tube, DLR or river boats. We got a good weekend deal which included breakfast which was up to the usual high standard for Hilton hotels.
We used the clipper boat service to visit the annual Thames Festival, well worth a visit included a wonderful carnival and fireworks. There is also a very interesting musuem at Canary Wharf shows the history of London, by the way free to get in.

Modern hotel thats very handy for the DLR to allow you access to the tube and London, also only two stops from Greenwich for a great night out. Watch the bar prices though much too expensive. The breakfast is great and later in the day Hilton Burgers rule supreme. The rooms are comfortable as you would expect from an Hilton. Also allows easy access to the shopping at Cannary Warf. A good stay.

I am delighted to read that you found the location of the hotel very accessible and that you enjoyed your stay at the hotel including breakfast and the Hilton Burger; I will certainly pass your comments on to the Executive Chef. Just for your information the Canary Wharf hotel is only 12 minutes away on the Jubilee Line to the largest shopping centre in Europe, Westfield Strafford City and 15 minutes away on the DLR.

A Great Hilton, couldn't be handier right on the doorstep of Canary Wharf, super rooms and restaurant. Bar food very high standard too for a meal later on.

No complaints about the rooms at all. Having said all that this was a pricey London hotel, I was staying on a business rate and glad i was not paying myself. Nice confirtable business stay.

I have stayed here in a number of occasions and have always had a good experience. Rooms are clean and tidy and modern and very quiet. Get a good rate for a weekend stay and you wont be disappointed. Easy transfer to all the attractions on the DLR and 2 minutes from South Quay station. Can't comment on breakfast as we had a room only rate. Staff welcoming, easy and quick check in. I would choose Hilton Canary Wharf every time Im in London if I can get a rate around the £100 p.n.

Dont hesitate to book this one.
