I stayed in a twin share room which came with a mini fridge, tea and coffee supplies and a wash basin. I was very happy with the size of the room. Bathrooms are available every level and kept spotlessly clean. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are also provided. There is a well supplied kitchen available for use as well as a pub downstairs that offers cheap good food. I never had any problems with noise. There is a bus stop right outside with buses directly into London and train stations. I found it very convenient and easy to use.
Overall this is a lovely and comfortable place to stay for a very reasonable price. The service was always offered with a smile and I enjoyed my stay.

This inexpensive hotel has all a budget traveller could want. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the bathrooms were clean, the room was decently sized, the kitchen was well stocked with the essentials and to top it all off - it's just an easy bus ride away from Elephant and Castle. You will not find anything as worthwhile in London for this price.

Would definitely recommend to friends.

If you want an unexpensive place to rest during the visit to London, this is the perfect place. Located near the Elephant & Castle Underground, the best way to get to the hotel is to catch the 343 bus and you'll be in front of the Hour Glass. The service is excelent, very pleasant and (Sebastien has) always ready to help. Don't expect any big luxury but after running the city you need a place to rest and this was perfect due to location and cost. Sergio

I book this hotel quite offern and always receive the same great service everytime. The manager goes the extra mile to assist with specific request and I've never been disappointed. The bathrooms are modern and the rooms are always very clean. A.Maria

This hotel is situated far away from the tube in a residential area with nothing to do around (no restaurants, cafes, ...). Our room was minute with no cupboards and the hotel as well the attched pub are very old and shabby. We were so unhappy that we left after the first night (with no one to complain to because there is no reception and the pub does not open before 11).
The worst thing was that they refused to let us go, in other words: We did not get even a partly refund of the four nights' payment we had to do beforehand. They force unsatisfied customers to stay there. I had never been treated like this!

I have stayed at the hour glass while working in London and I have to say that it's like a home from home the staff are always friendly and helpful nothing is ever too much trouble , thanks Sebastian and company. The rooms themselves are clean and well furnished if you don't want to eat out you can get food in the bar or you have the use of the hotel kitchen. To conclude I highly recommend this hotel and I am fairly sure you will be hard pushed to find somewhere to stay that is as much value for money as the Hour Glass!!!

I have stayed here several times over the last couple of months when working in London. Its a fairly easy walk in (45 mins) to the city over Tower Bridge. The rooms are clean and well equipped. Not en-suite but the bathrooms are good and I've never had to wait for one. No noise to speak of from the bar downstairs or the other guests.
