On arriving at the hotel I was relatively optomistic - the place looked fine. Was told we could leave our bags in our room which was good. That is until we saw the room.

£180 a night for a set of bunk beds, & a sink! - that was about it - not even a plug in the sink.

The toilet, shower etc was "communal" for how many I'm not sure but there was always a queue for them.

The breakfast was basic but OK but for this amount of money it was a disgrace.

First time to London. Was told W14 wasn't bad and good location. WELL, overpriced, (cashing in on the Olympics) room not what was asked for and paid up front for. Hot, smelly, unclean room. The ensuite (no toilet!!!!!!!) stank like blocked drains. 1 bed was like sleeping in a hammock. It must have had whale lying in it previously.
For the young this is a basic packpackers and not a hotel. Poor misleading advertising.
Would certainly not stay again or recommend to anyone.

Room Tip: The only tip would be not to stay here.

Advertised as W14 Hotel, it most definately is not a hotel. We did not expect the ritz by all means. We booked a twin room which was bunk beds, a sink and a locker that did not lock. Sheets were very clean, I was impressed by that however the floor did not look like it was vaccuumed before we arrived. We used shared bathrooms which were not very clean - not filthy but not clean by all means, they had a stench of wee about them and I didn't seem to see naybody clean them the whole 4 nights we were there. 2 of the 3 showers on our floor had no hot water, but the bath mat was changed once a day. Bunks were old and I sank into the mattress quite badly and I am only 60kg, they definately need new mattresses as they are just old. Breakfast was minimal I would not pay extra for it if it wasn't free, we only ate it one day (toast which you wait to be put on your table when its cooked in the kitchen and some cereal), as after the first day we just went to the lovely cafe at the end of the street and had a massive english breakfast for a great price. The manager (I presume he was) was a great help especially when we were trying to organise a train trip however every other member of staff was terrible. One guy just waved his hand in dismissal when we asked him if the bar was still open, not polite at all. Also one night we got home about 3am and the man on reception that night was laid back asleep in his chair at the desk, didn't even stir when we came in. Stay wasn't terrible if all you need is somewhere to sleep and it is close to West Kensington and Barons Court tube stations (5 mins walk). I would not stay here again as it was not even cheap for the lack of service or cleanliness, but it is London...
