“Great for business or pleasure”
Reviewed August 20, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights in August. As a business hotel, it is very well situated being close to Lloyds and the heart of the City - everything is in easy walking distance. As a vacation hotel, my wife was very happy as it is very close to the Tower Hill tube station, with easy access to sights of London. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, from the front desk, to the restaurant and the housekeepers. We certainly recommend this hotel and will be back next time we are in London.

Stayed here for 3 nights over the weekend and must say it is a lovely hotel. Nice area and with tube less than 3 minute walk away London is very accessible. Only stayed in standard room which was on the small size but we got a good price so did not mind. Overall modern clean hotel in business district. Shop around though there are deals to be got when booking from various hotel sites.

We had a very nice room with a great view on to London bridge. It was clean, modern and functional. The location is close to the tube and great for a nice walk near the Thames. Check in and check out was professional and friendly. Well done and thank you.

Tips: don't forget the duck ;-)

For a five day London stay I was really impressed with the Apex City of London. I had booked online and was worried that its location within the 'City' may have limited its appeal after dark. How wrong was I! This hotel is one of the The Best placed within London. 2 minutes walk from Tower Hill tube station which takes you literally anywhere anytime within London. Loved the ease of transport and the bars and resturants right next door to Seething Lane. Highly recommended for location. The rooms are very comfortable and the bonus is the size of the bathroom. Very good with the only loss of mark for a pretty tatty bathtub that needs some work. Otherwise a comfortable bed, good facilities, quiet and excellent, attentive staff. I would stay again for all of the reasons above.

Room Tip: We had no view at all on floor seven. Perhaps ask for a room facing Seething Lane

the hotel staff is very friedly. the rooms are well equipped, clean, modern. free coffee is in the room, too. the gym is a bit small and has no daylight so not great...but you can jogg at the thames which is neraby. so, if you look for a good place to stay and like sports outside thats a great place.

Nice modern clean rooms, ok gym, good room service, efficient desk (tho' I did have to negotiate for a free umbrella when I was checking out - having stayed for 8 odd nights - being asked to pay 25 quid for an umbrella seemed a bit harsh), easy to get into city (tho' still a walk or a cab - not as easy as say "the Threadneedle" or the other Apex. It just works, easy and no gripes. I'm sure for a weekend in London, good choice if you don't fancy the West End.

The hotel is in a quiet location, across from the Tower of London. Very close to the Tube, with a friendly atmosphere and very helpful staff. The gentleman by the name of Joseph, assisted us in booking tickets for attractions, such as a musical, Westminister Abby, Tower of London, and museums. He did it all in matter of minutes, saving us hours of waiting in line for tickets. We missed one attraction, due to exhaustion, he called and arranged for authorization for the next day. Every place we needed to go, he would pull out the map and show us exact routs to take, including the best method of transportation. Overall, our experience was great, we would come back to the same hotel a second time. I would give this hotel a 10, all because of the services rendered.
