“Clean, perfect base for a trip to London”
Reviewed February 14, 2013

Myself and my partner have just come back from this hotel. This was a great base for our London trip, it was five minute walk to two tube stations which took you into central London in approx 10mins. The check in was quick and straight forward, our room was in the annex and although may not have had some of the fancy features a more expensive hotel has, it was, very clean and comfortable. We felt we had very good value for money. The price included breakfast, which set us up perfectly for a day ahead site seeing. We were also able to leave our luggage in a locked room after our check out time as we were not traveling home till later on in the day and did not want to carry them around. We would defiantly stay here again when we next visit London.
If you want a cheap evening meal visit the pub just down the road called The Goose, it has a deal on two meals for £7.45. Which we had and found it the food to be good for what you paid for.

We arrived this hotel 6:30 am and we were able to check in about 7:30 am and have breakfast. The room is about 10 X 20 feet and is clean and quiet. I checked the floor plan and found out that all the rooms in the old wing are of the same size. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The tube station is two bus stops away and takes about 7 minutes to walk.

Chose this hotel purely on price as needed an overnight stay for a sightseeing trip to London. We regularly use Holiday Inn but had no experience of HI Express. At £76 including breakfast we thought we would give this one a try.

From West Brompton tube the walk was roughly 10 minutes. The area was not the greatest however it was not a problem. For the rest of our trips we used West Kensington tube which was a little closer.

Arrived 2 hours early with the intention of just asking to leave our luggage. We received an excellent welcome and immediately told that although we were early our room was ready and we could check in straight away.

Our room in the annexe was first class, fresh, modern and clearly new. Breakfast was plentiful and very relaxed.

There were plenty of takeaways and local shops etc although we did not use them.

All in all, a real gem of a hotel and would definitely use again.

This was my second time to use Holiday Inn Express network (Berlin and London) and result is the same. Clear but rather small room, good service, pleasant stuff, affordable price, good location. In London it was quite cold in the room (January and up to 8 degree outside) and English breakfast is just too repetitive. But at least you know what standard you will get in Holiday Inn Express network and it is worth the money.

Stayed here with my family for the last three years and can highly recommend the wheelchair accessible rooms with wet room. Excellent service from staff who went out of their way to help. Very good buffet breakfast. Disappointed to find they no longer have a car park and need to park elsewhere though. Apart from that I can find no fault!

Dear Valmayuk,

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review about the Hotel On TripAdvisor about your stay last March.

I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay here and that you found the service to be great. I am sorry you had issues parking we were building an extra 50 bedrooms where the car park used to be. So for a short period only there wasn't any parking however with the new building completed there is parking available.

I want to thank you for your comments and I do hope you continue to visit with us.

This hotel I could not fault, staff very friendly, rooms in the new part excellant and the walk in shower 4 star. free breakfast and a car park £20.00 per day, not bad for London. Bus stop outside the hotel for Central London and Earls Court Exhibition Centre a five minute walk down Lilly Road.
Free Wi Fi in the lounge area and if you book early enough prices are reasonable, can recommend the Lily Tandori and the Taiwanese resturant in Lily Rd

Room Tip: annex rooms are nice and quiet

My room was in the annex (you have to venture outside to get there, but there is shelter from the rain), and was very clean. It was furnished to normal Holiday Inn Express standards, and the sofa-bed made for a comfortable seat. My room was at the back, so was very quiet.

The buffet breakfast was reasonable, although there was not a huge choice: cereal/meusli, yoghurt, cheese, croissants, rolls, bread/toast, fruit, scrambled eggs, sausages and beans; and tea, coffee, orange or apple juice to drink. The man on duty did a good job of keeping things replensihed and cleaning up the tables. There was no queue when I arrived, but about 8.45 (Friday and Saturday mornings) there were quite long queues for the buffet, so get down early!

Service was generally friendly and helpful, although when I asked which direction was best for restaurants, I was directed along the North End Road and had a long walk without seeing anywhere I fancied, so I ended up eating in a cafe, so if you want a restaurant, I suggest walking back up towards Earls Court. On which subject, note that, despite its name, this hotel isn't actually in Earls Court. It is handy for the Earls Court exhibition centre, but is a good 20-25 minutes walk from Earls Court underground station.

Quite far from the centre of town, but if you are prepared to walk a bit (or are going to an exhibition or show at Earls Court), good value for money in London terms.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the front of the hotel.
