202 is so well situated ,very close to the tube, walking distace to portabello market, hyde park and kensington. the flat was warm, clean and well appointed, with a new digital tv and cd/dvd facilities. the kitchen had every thing i needed in it and the bathroom was quite large. it was surprizingly quiet for such a central location, i slept very well. the manager Susie branson was very helpful. i will definately stay there again...great value for money.

We went in end February with my wife and my 11 years old son. It was our first time in London. I try to found an apartment not to expensive and as central as possible. I made the right choice. This apartment was perfect, very clean and near of everything; transports, supermarkets, restaurants. You can walk by night with no problem. We love London and where we staid. Great expereience.

My wife and I stayed here for 14 nights in September 2008. We had quiet rooms on the third floor, back side of the building (a good choice, as there is a plenty of traffic in the area through the evening hours).

If you come to London via LHR, the Heathrow Express train to Paddington will put you just a short taxi ride from 202.

The location is excellent, with bus and Tube close by. We went to many different London locations (antiques centres and markets) by Tube, and it was always easy to find our way back "home." The rooms were clean and well-kept, and the daily (M-F) maid service was fine. The kitchen was more than adequate (we made our own breakfast and late dinner almost every day), and the nearby Tesco was a good place for grocery shopping, esp. before about 3:30 pm when it gets very busy for about 2 hours.

All in all, a very good experience.

An ideal location for exploring London. Chalfont Appartments offers extraordinary value with light and spacious rooms, well equipped kitchenettes, bathrooms and sitting rooms.
All immaculately kept and managed by Susan Fraser. We have been coming here since 1989 and have seen considerable improvements in comfort and decor.
These apparments are within ten minutes' walk from South Kensington and Hyde Park. On all major bus routes and two minutes' walk from Nottinghill underground for Central, Circle and District Lines. Bus 394 on Bayswater Rd. takes you in 15 minutes straight to St. Pancras Station (Eurostar).
Banks, Post Office, Pubs and Restaurants are all within walking distance. Without hesitation we highly recommend these appartments.

We (husband, 16 year old son and self) stayed at 202 on the first leg of our UK/Europe trip. We travelled for just over three weeks - 6 countries and 14 hotels and can honestly say that our experience at 202 was the worst of the entire trip - by far.

We booked, and paid in advance, for a "medium one bedroom apartment to sleep three with two single beds in the bedroom, a fold down couch in the sitting room and a separate kitchen and bathroom with bath and shower".

The web site advertises the apartments as being central and they are - very convenient with Notting Hill tube very close but we would rather have walked further!

It also says cosy - maybe, if the balconey door fom the bedroom had not leaked when it rained and the bedroom floor had not become covered in water. We were warned on checking in not to open the door from the sitting room to the balconey as it would probably not close but nobody said anything about the bedroom door.

Comfortable? The fold down couch only had three legs and had to be propped up with telephone books and paperbacks. The water pressure in the bathroom was so low that it was almost impossible to set a comfortable water temperature when showering and if you did manage to set it, it constantly changed from very, very cold to very, very hot.

Clean? The coffee mugs in the cupboard did not appear to have been washed and the foil covered trays in the oven had very visible evidence of the previous occupants dinner!

Budget? GBP138 per night is not a fortune but I have stayed in other far better apartments in London for similar amounts. Suggest you try 2 Hyde Park Square if you want to stay in an apartment in London. We would have but it was fully booked, probably due to the London Marathon which was run while we were there. Having stayed at 202 I can now understand why it had vacancies during his very busy period.

Downside was it was quite noisy at night. The road outside was busy all night.

Perfect location for a great price in London. For those who don't mind cooking while on holiday - here's the perfect location to save money on food to be able to use it for site-seeing and other things. We stayed at the Chalfont 202 apartments located on Kensington Church Street in Notting Hill in London this past week and it was very nice. The apartment is not huge, but it was larger rooms than most hotels in London. We had a double bed studio with a small kitchen and bathroom with tub/shower(with lots of powerful hot water). The kitchen was well equiped with pots, pans, dishes, toaster, coffeepot, teapot, fridge, stove, oven and microwave. All we had to provide was the food and that was simple since there was a Tesco and M&S grocery stores within a 3 minute walk. The Notting Hill tube stop was 2 minutes from the door, as well as bus stops right outside the door to get you to anywhere in London. Kensington Gardens was a 10 minute walk. For the antique hunters, Portobello Road with all the antique stores and market is a 10 minute walk. There was daily maid service included as well, so you don't have to make your own bed or scrub your toliets either. The only very tiny downside - it is a bit noisy on the streetside of this apartment building, but most nights, it was quiet by midnight - fewer buses running and the pubs closing down created a calm throughout the night until around 8am. The owner told me they are working on installing double-paned windows to help that problem too. Overall, we will definately be staying there in the future. During the winter months, you can stay on a daily basis, but during the busy summer months, you must book minimum 1 week stays .
