A great night in an amazing venue that appears to be an old theatre, really very nice and the roof garden was great. We arrived at around 7.45pm for The Chromatics/Glass Candy gig and lagers on special until 8pm at £2.50 - great!

ADTR themselves were amazing. The venue however was overcrowded, meaning it was hard to find somewhere to stand where you were actually able to see the band. Being 5ft 3, I usually struggle so I just go to the back to get a decent view, but there was all sorts of things in the way obstructing the view in KOKO. Not suitable for a gig of this scale, and after travelling all the way from Glasgow especially for this gig I was very disappointed.

Thank ADTR13

Just returned from seeing Your Demise and A day to remember. Cheap drinks before 8pm, however more than double the price after 8!? Everything else was great!

I've been to Koko several times on a Friday night for Club NME.

I love the mix of live acts and DJ sets. You're sure to discover the "next big thing", and it's a great platform for upcoming bands to launch from. As expected, most bands are of the Indie persuasion, and thus much of the clientele are "Indie Kids" - expect lots of students, tight jeans and the latest trends in hairstyles. That said, there's a lot less attitude and agro than in many other clubs I've been too, and I'm yet to see anyone fighting. Security are firm but fair, and they're not out for a fight, they're clearly there to help everyone have the best time possible. The people (staff and other clubbers) are almost always friendly, and there are lots of places to move around between. If you prefer dancing the night away, the dance floor is plenty big enough, yet always busy. If you prefer standing away from the foot-movers there are plenty of seats and standing spaces in the upper levels.

The toilets are pretty good for a club. Although they're small, there's enough of them dotted around.

Drinks aren't exactly cheap (two drinks cost me £17.80), but service is pretty good, and selection is excellent.

Getting to/from Koko is super easy. It's right beside Mornington Crescent tube station, on the main road between Camden and central London. When you leave in the early hours there are plenty of night buses to take you towards/away from the city centre, and taxis are always plentiful.

Camden is a pretty interesting area, especially at night, and inhabited and frequented by many types of people - some more savoury than others.. Be sensible and streetwise and you'll be just fine.

Brilliant gig, great atmosphere and close to all the pubs of Camden. Would recommend this venue as it also a nightclub after the gigs
