“Cosy in a rough area.”
Reviewed February 15, 2013

When you step off the underground at Whitechapel you might be in for a shock! It's quite a rough area, luckily the pub was a short walk from the station.
The clientele were a friendly enough bunch, and the staff were welcoming. It gets pretty busy by 7 and it's quite trendy!
They do a cheese board with a bottle of wine for £18 and a good selection of draught lagers.
The real fire is cosy on a freezing cold night and I liked the mix of characters that were there. I would definitely recommend you visit this pub, it's atmospheric!

“Nice warm pub in a depressing area”
Reviewed January 29, 2013 via mobile

We visited this pub on our kray detour. Whitechapel looks nothing like it used to its an unfriendly ghetto., but the blind beggar is a warm and friendly place. Glad to see they have refrained from modernizing it too much. We went it for food. They don't have a kitchen., so no food, which isn't their fault., but they were serving a cheese and meat board., which we had., not over expensive and was lovely. Drinks were reasonable too. Will return.

“great pub”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

i dragged my friend here for a few drinks! i have always been intrigued by the kray twins and have always wanted to visit this pub. inside looks like it has been kept as 21st century free as can be! a lady in there said it needs modernising, but if i had gone in there and it was modern i would have been well disappointed.
it felt really old and untouched pretty much from when the krays went in there. i loved it in there and will go for a drink in there whenever im next in london.

Working In Stratford London for a few days and decided to visit the famous Blind Begger. An ordinary East End pub with some notoriety because of its connections with the Krays. Indifferant service and very over priced compared to other pubs in the area.
