Owner description: A trip on the Coca-Cola London Eye is truly captivating, a ‘must-do’ and has been London’s number one visitor experience for over a decade. Elegantly rotating over the River Thames and less than a five minute stroll from Waterloo station along the beautiful Southbank. Step into your capsule and feel the exhilaration as you rise up over the Thames. Come face to face with the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, before soaring above them - up to 135 metres on the world’s tallest cantilevered observation wheel. There are mesmerising 360-degree views of the capital laid out before you - London’s most famous landmarks and up to 40km out of the city to Windsor Castle on a clear day.

On our recent trip to London, I had booked a reservation for the London Eye. It is a little confusing and I am not sure how much time that I saved, although I do know that I did save time. I had to wait on line to get my reserved ticket, which was a short line...5-10 minutes, as opposed to a potentially very long line, but the bulk of the waiting comes after that, which was about 45 minutes. It is an expensive attraction and in order to cut down that wait time to about 15 minutes, you have to purchase a fast track.

I liked the attraction. It had great views of London and gave us an over view, as it was the first thing that we did after our arrival, but it is expensive and time consuming. The ride takes about 30 minutes and there are points marked on maps as you are in your 'car'. There are about 25 people to a car and their courtesy is also impacting your experience.

It is something different to do if you have the time and the money to do it,, but London has so many things to see and they can be expensive as well.

We really enjoyed our ride around the London Eye. We bought our tickets for a hop on hop off bus tour, but you still need to wait in the line which moved quickly.

my daughter loved this as she had the combined London eye and the river cruise ticket so she had her trip on the eye first and then topped it off with a cruise down the river. she'd never been on a boat before but she thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it to others

Do not miss the London Eye. We bought our tickets off-site at one of the ubiquitous ticket sellers around Piccadilly/Leicester. We paid a little extra for the fast track. We basically walked on the Eye, literally less than a minute. We were only in London for 4 days and unless your goal is to feel like a real Londoner by spending all your time queuing up, get the Fast Track. We came to do, not to wait around.

Went on a very hot Saturday . Prebooked tickets and printed them at home. Still had to queue for an hour. Queue moves quite quickly. Wonderful views from the pods . Takes approx 35 minutes to go the full circle. On a clear day you can see for miles around London. A birds eye view. A must if you visit London.
