Owner description: The Barbican Centre is the largest multi-arts centre in Europe, featuring art, film, music, theatre, dance and education all under one roof and under one creative direction. There's a great choice of eating and drinking at the Barbican, with something to please every taste.

The Barbican is a modernist masterpiece or nightmare depending on your viewpoint. However it is London's most comfortable venue for concerts with plenty of legroom and excellent sight lines in the main auditorium. The theatre is also excellent for plays, although the cinemas are rather down-at-heel.

Most of the stores in the Barbican we visited are lovely! Enjoyed browsing and shopping. I'm afraid my trip was marred by a trip to 'Mango'. The staff were rude and snooty and refused to honour a price on a tag, insisting on trying to charge me more, despite clear labelling to the contrary. Shame on you!

I went to see a film in the Barbican last week. Got there early to take in some of the exhibitions and have a snack. It is an excellent venue. Good choice of food and drink. I took a cab there as I wasn't sure of finding my way but walked back to Liverpool Street station and it's only a few mins away.

The Barbican Centre has always been a centre of excellence, showcasing the finest theatre, exhibitions and music, and with the opening of the 2 new cinema screens in beech Street, there really is no need to venture further afield. The new bar and brasserie cater for all tastes. The food and excellent alternative to the more expensive Juggered Hare opposite (althought The Jugged Hare too is fantastic).

My first visit to the Barbican and it is easy to get to where ever you may be in London. The sign posting is very good, particularly from the tube station. However, once inside the Barbican the signs become a challenge and the staff must get fed up with their time spent on directing people to where-ever they may need to be. It looks good, but isn't easy to read and you're never quite sure on your location.
The venue itself is excellent with everything necessary for a performance to be enjoyed. The seats are reasonably comfortable and the viewing is very well planned. Of course if you are going to see one of the best performers on the circuit at present, Ludvico Einaudi, the surroundings are there to enhance your experience. Clean, airy and reasonably comfortable if a little sterile with regards to imagery on the walls.
