Description: Rabot 1745 brings to Londoners the cocoa-centric cuisine of its hugely successful sibling, the Boucan Restaurant, launched in Saint Lucia in 2011 to the adoration of New Yorkers just a short-haul flight away. A unique restaurant and bar, with a terrace overlooking the bustling Borough Market, Rabot 1745 has the rough-and-polished elegance of a cocoa plantation house in the heart of London, featuring authentic touches like hurricane-felled Ironwood, brought home from our own 250-year-old cocoa estate in Saint Lucia. As well as a range of inventive cocktails, Rabot 1745 offers a delicious menu crafted by Chef John Bentham, featuring contemporary dishes that draw on the best culinary traditions of the Caribbean, West Indies, and Britain, using roasted cocoa as a subtle savoury spice.

I really really wanted to have classic afternoon tea before we left London and after a series of random events, we ended up here. At first, I was disappointed thinking it was going to be too much of a chocolate tasting and less classic tea, but it was perfect! We each had a chocolate drink and a tea, and wonderful sandwiches, sweets and chocolates, all with a little chocolate twist. highly recommend for tea! (just don't eat lunch first at the market below like we did!)

As regular customers to our local Hotel Chocolat shop, we were fully aware of the quality of their chocolate and the ethical sourcing of the ingredients. We were hopeful of the food at Rabot 1745 being equally good and we were not disappointed. The food was creative and expertly prepared. We chose to eat in the open air dining area within the Borough Market and found this a pleasurable experience. The service was excellent and we will return.

We travel down from Lincolnshire to visit Rabot 1745, at least twice a year. We met up with some friends from America, last night, to show them how wonderful the restaurant is. Sat on the terrace, under the heaters, overlooking Borough Market was a great way to soak up the atmosphere of old London. This was enhanced by the excellent food and first class service; nothing was too much trouble and we were treated perfectly. We will be back again later this year and would recommend Rabot 1745 to anybody looking for breakfast, lunch, evening meal or just a quick drink. Try the hot chocolate - it's a bit good!

My wife and I had been waiting for some time to come here, so our expectations were high, and we weren't disappointed.
Our waitress was friendly and attentive, and the food really was delicious.
The surroundings were relaxing and comfortable, with a good view over Borough Market.
We'll definately be back.
