“Nice experience for the kids”
Reviewed December 4, 2012

Hamleys is a fantastic place to shop. The staff are knowledgable, friendly and funny. The place was extremely crowded during the christmas sales, but they still had time to explain, and make their usual antics.

“to avoid before xmas”
Reviewed December 2, 2012 via mobile

the choice of toys is amazing. but to be avoid before xmas because you can't move inside! it mainly offers the well-known brands and characters, still the good ones. very nice on the last floor is the royal family made with lego.

“Met Santa at Hamleys”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

We splashed out for our 3 children to meet Santa and the elves at Hamleys for storytime and brunch. We were expecting a beautifully decorated grotto to warrant the high cost but the Santa experience just took place in their sparsely decorated party room. That said, the children still enjoyed it. There was colouring, a basic packed brunch (croissant, flapjack, juice, gingerbread snowman and yoghurt), a story and magic tricks by Snowflake the elf and then of course, time with Santa. The gift was a Hamleys bear and colouring pencils. Snowflake's personality helped lift the occasion - shame the children spotted the elastic on Santa's beard!
Would we have spent the money on reflection? Probably not - we would have chosen Harrods or Selfridges instead, but the kids enjoyed the experience of meeting Santa and visiting the very busy toy store afterwards.

“Christmas shopping”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

It was a rainy day and therefore the shop was heaving with Christmas shoppers. However Regent Street had been pedestrianised and this helped to get around to Hamleys. Once inside the staff had to keep the shoppers moving especially around the escalators to avoid accidents. The shop was noisy and at times difficult to get to see what you wanted to see. But for sheer volume and variety of different toys it was brilliant - exhausting though.

“I wish i was a child again!!! it was amazing”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

i have not been here since i was about 6 and all i remember was excitement. Going here again i was just as amazed and excited as i remember. the shop its self was a lot smaller then i thought. there was an insane amount of levels but each floor its self was quite small. this didn't matter at all as each floor was able to create its own experience. we spent ages wandering around and looked at everything it had to offer. the staff are so enthusiastic you cant help but be amazed. I would make this a must do part of any trip to London with children. we went to the shop at about 4pm and it was in no way busy it was easy to walk about and there were no ques at all!!! For London at the end of November this was amazing!
