I had not been for a boat trip on the Thames since I was 10 yrs old, but did it again last month. We took a roundttrip to Greenwich. The live guide on the way to Greenwich was very good, fun and interesting. Nice way to get a good look of the docklands. Comfortable boat, you can get coffee or even a drink!

We joined this cruise late in the day as a last minute decision. Despite being an extremely cold day, we sat up top and enjoyed the views, taking many photos. We got on at Westminster pier (opposite London eye) and toured to Tower bridge. The man doing the commentary was fabulous - informative and funny (and beats those tape-recorded commentaries). We only got off to change boats to go back to Westminster pier (as reccommended to us when we got our tickets), as we wouldnt have gotten back due to the tides otherwise. All in all an enjoyable way and different way to see some of the sights.

My husband and I joined the tour from the Tower of London to Grenwich in January 2013 the trip was approx 1.5 hours long, the boat was warm and comfortable with the commentary being interesting and clear. We really enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anyone.

Even on a dull wet October day this was great on the top open deck!

Travelled from Westminster Pier (the one opposite the London Eye) to the Tower of London and returned later in the afternoon from the Tower of London to the London Eye. The staff at both piers where very helpful and child friendly.

Really great long tour that took in all the sights along the river between the main attractions.
Very funny and interesting commentary from both captains/first mate's in both directions each with own personality and insights. Something different from normal city tours and see the sights from a different perspective. Outbound we travelled on the open top deck which was chilly and abit wet (as expected for October!) but very worth while. Returning on the visitor deck below was good as has huge windows at the front which my son loved and could still enjoy the sights from and hear the commentary but a little warmer.
Very highly recommend this tour
We travelled as part of the London sightseeing pass.

My family and I have had numerous trips to London, so the prospect of celebrating my brothers birthday led to the usual discussion over what exactly to do.
We settled on the river cruise as despite having traipsed along much of the Thames everyone says you get an even better perspective from the river - and they were right!

The tour goes from Westminster to Greenwich and takes 2 -3 hours as a round trip. As you pass the crew give you a decent tour of the main attractions with some very accessible history, facts and pub guides! They depart every 35 minutes so there is no problem if you just turn up. I would recommend the "Red Rover" ticket - it allows you to hop on and off as you please. Pick up and drop off piers are Westminster, London Eye, Tower Bridge and Greenwich.

It is considerably cheaper if you buy online in advance, however for even better value convert your Tesco Clubcard vouchers into rewards tokens - at current it is 4:1.

A really great day out and much fun for all the family!
