Amazing, the huge collection, the entrance fee includes the audioguide, which let you discover the whole building. The galleries are wonderfull. Very nice and helpfull people at the desk... I really would recommend it to everybody interested in the history and arts...

“A Hidden Gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 23, 2012

What a lovely find and very reasonably priced. The included headphone tour was excellent. I wanted to see the paintings there but the porcelain and gold plates / table centre pieces / swords etc were quite mind blowing. Wellington was certainly showered with many precious gifts in his lifetime from grateful nations! Don't miss the basement as there were some interesting curios down there including the death masks of Wellington and Napoleon.

From porcelain to art to death masks (!) Apsley House gives a fascinating insight into Wellington's life. The audio guide means that you can get plenty of information as you go round whilst the signs and notices around the property are ideal for those who want a less detailed overview.

“A Top Class attraction”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 20, 2012

This is a place worth visiting to see the history of the Duke of Wellington. It is superbly laid out with many exhibits of gold, silver and porcelain sets that I have not seen elsewhere. The audio presentation is excellent and allows you to really get to the information you want. Prior to going I had not been all that keen on seeing yet another museum but this one is worth the visit. No big push through the gift shop or food venues at the end.
