“Nice hotel with great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2013

Our room was really warm, beds were great and the service was really friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel to people who like to walk and run in the Hyde Park, because it's just 200 m away from the hostel. There is also a really cool pub (The Swan) just about 100 m away from the hostel and I recommend to visit there :) Nothing bad to say about the hostel, breakfast wasn't so spectacular but it was quite cheap, 5 £.

My friends and I spent 3 days at the hotel, went away for the weekend, and returned to the hotel for another 4 days. The staff members are friendly and very helpful. Rooms are compact but clean. The hotel is ideally located--Lancaster Gate tube station is nearby; Hyde Park is within walking distance; Royal Albert Hall, Museum of Natural History, Museum of Science and Technology are in the vicinity. The hotel offers a special consisting of a 3-night stay and breakfast. This is a very good deal. I have been a returning guest for several years and recommend this hotel.

I have stayed in this hotel about 10 days, the hotel is clean and so near to the Lancaster Tube Station. The its price has a good money value.

I would like to thank the restaurant staff and the reception staff (Dilip and Behnaz) for their cooperation, Friendly treatment and excellent service.

Spent 3 nights at the hotel for a 50th birthday weekend in London. Was very pleased with the location, only a few hundred yards from Lancaster Gate Tube station with easy transport to all London tourist attractions. A walk across nearby Hyde Park is nice in itself and takes you to Knightsbridge and Kensington where Harrods is. A walk down the Bayswater Road where the tube station is takes you past Marble Arch and onto Oxford Street. We actually walked that route and then on to the Covent Garden/ Leicester Square area. I recommend getting a visitors Oyster card for using London transport which can be topped up as needed and journeys cost a lot less than the regular fares. Anyway about the hotel: Me and partner were really impressed with the good value for money, cleanliness, friendliness and a lovely breakfast. At breakfast the staff were very helpful and accommodating. Our room was cleaned daily, with fresh towels and topped up with tea and coffee etc. If we go to London again we would definitely stay at the Elysee.I know this is not a five star hotel but in my opinion for what we needed and could afford it was excellent.

My husband and I spent 8 days in the Elysee in October and were very pleased with the value a
and the location. Surrounded by more expensive hotels, the Elysee had smaller rooms than some but with all of the amenities (aside from WIFI) and would definitely return.

At just under $100 GBP a night, our price included a full breakfast in a nicely appointed breakfast room with eggs, coldcuts, juice/coffee/tea, toast or muffins and beans. We always had timely and courteous service and never felt rushed. We did pre-pay our room which provided a nice discount.

You have to lug your bags up a short set of stairs to reach the lift, but that was the only access problem. Staff were usually quite friendly and will help you with directions and brochures to some of the most frequented sites. We had a window that would actually open, which was nice for the time of year we were there - giving us fresh air and a cool breeze.

It's about a 10 minute walk from the Paddington train station and a short walk to Hyde Park and points beyond.

Room Tip: Rooms in fron overlook the relatively quiet Craven Terrace area. Book early to get full bath, vs. ju...

Very nice staff and very well located hotel. Simple small hotel, very clean, very friendly.
Dilip and the breakfast ladies are really nice!
Good choise for 3 nights stay.
The pub right in front is great and Hyde Park is just aroud the corner.
Great place. I'll stay there in futher ocasions for sure.

Room Tip: The rooms are not so big, so it even if you are a couple, is better to ask for triple bedroom.

First impression was a very friendly welcome at reception. Our room was not big, but we were not in London to stay in our room all the time! Bathroom was pleasant and clean but we found our shower was not as hot as we would have liked. Breakfast was a plentiful buffet including cooked food and the waiting staff were excellent: the lady in charge even remembered our preferred drink on our second day!
Being situated in Craven Terrace, there was no real traffic or other noise to disturb us.
All in all a very good value hotel and a short step from Paddington and Lancaster Gate tube station.

Room Tip: Our room looked onto the side and had a view of the park.
