We stumbled upon this little restaurant on a Saturday night. It was busy which is usually a good sign. The food was was very good - home style Indian food. Similar to Dishoom (shoreditch) but at far less cost. The lamb and turnip stew was very good, as was the basket of mixed indian breads and the chickpea side dish. We also tried a couple of cocktails which were also very good, perhaps not quite up to Dishoom standard though but not far off!
Overall a very good meal at a reasonable price. We will return!

I went along to Zumbura earlier on this week and I can say this is unlike any other Indian restaurant. If you are wanting a boring curry house this place is not for you.

If you want fresh, tasty good in a modern atmosphere with great cocktails then this is certainly a place to try.

The food is truly authentic. I tried a variety if dishes but my favourites included the Patora and the lamb.

Much needed addition to Clapham old town.

I persuaded a small group of friends to try this place, as it looked to be an exciting addition to area eateries, but sadly was disappointing. The food is great, but we were misled into ordering plates to share. All 5 of us were agreed that the taste of each dish was so good, whilst being strong and unique, that the sharing thing detracted rather than added to the experience, as our palettes never stood a chance. Better to order one item and enjoy. We were also disappointed that the wine waiter/barman tossed our bottle of 'red' (his term: we had ordered a specific type of wine rather than a colour) in his hand whilst showing it to us. He would do better to channel Anthony Hopkins in 'The Remains of the Day' rather than Tom Cruise in 'Cocktail'. Also all staff, including manager, failed to acknowledge us on leaving. No thanks. No farewell. So great kitchen, but front of house needs to up its game if it is going to fulfil its potential

This is a neighbourhood gem. We first visited the bar and had great cocktails. Then came back for dinner, and it really does taste like the food my mother and aunties cook at home (some things not quite as good and some things better - sorry mom!). Aside from good food and drinks it has a nice vibe, laid back but also a bit hip.

Our third visit and fantastic as always. Best cocktail list in Clapham. The pistachio ice cream is to die for. We'll be back soon
